As fairy lights shine and cashtills ring

It's Xmas time you know!

I wish I'd started posting

on this forum long ago.

 

We all enjoyed Rhodes silence

And to the farm we'd pay

If he's 6 kids I wonder why

He hints that he is..........

 

Perhaps we'll meet with Paula

or a picture we will see

Now we all know her real, true, age

She's still younger than me

 

The new years coming and I hope

The Manor wont go down

Long before my time, but it was 75/76 season, Prelim round Hertford Tow 1 Ruislip Manor 0. Our ground must have looked nice in those days!

We apparently threw away home advantage in the next round by losing 0-1 to Dunstable! In the league you were rather more sucessful than we were! We were 21/22 in Isthmian 2, and you were 13/16 in Athenian 1

It was quite a turbulent time then. We had just lost all our players/management to Hounslow in the close season, and the previous year the same thing happened but everyone went to Southall. The team you played went en-bloc to Harefield at the end of the season. So we started from scratch 3 years running.
