Albion poised to sign striker

By Chris Giles

Albion are poised to sign 21-year-old Billericay striker Nathan Elder.

He is expected to join the Seagulls for a small fee, with a sizeable sell-on clause, subject to passing a medical.

The prolific Elder caught Albion's eye when he scored twice for Ryman Premier League outfit Billericay against Worthing recently.

Nathan has scored 45 times from 89 starts for us but really I think anyone will tell you that he contributes a lot more than that in terms of strength and effort and ability to lead the line.

I suppose you would class him as an old-fashioned type forward. He is an athlete (which is quite handy at your gaff ). I don't know how old you are but if you think John Fashanu that's the sort of player you'll be getting.

I'm delighted someone's taken a chance with Nathan and I'm sure he won't let you down.

Good summary jl.

Yes i'm old enough to remember John Fash! Justin even played for us at some point in time

Sounds like the kind of guy we need, we think we are losing a guy to Coventry in the transfer window (Alex Revell ex Braintree) so we need a runner and a strong guy.

Well he won’t be your secret weapon v WHU as he would be cup tied from playing in the earlier rounds for us

You have signed a v good player here as he is a very strong and over 6 foot so he would be able to win things for you in the air and is also very quick along the ground and a tireless runner for the team after the balls to the flanks, putting defenders under pressure etc

Good luck to Nathan. He always gives you a 100% and is terrific in the air cos he has the ability to hang and hang and hang etc. We will miss him. Lets make sure we give him a goodbye to remember on Saturday against Bromley. 3-2 to the Blues with Nathan to score an injury time penalty to win the game!

OOPS! Silly me I forgot about the possibility of him being cup tied!

Seems a promising guy from yours and others summaries.

Revell stepped up from Braintree and has scored 10 in his first season in League One (£8,000 purchase)and we have strong rumours that he is off to Coventry in January.

So this guy if he settles down quickly could be in the same mould.

I can only congratulate Nathan on his move into pro-football. I think we all knew that we would lose him one-day and that his ability's would him take him higher. Deserves a rousing send-off on Saturday and hopefully he'll oblige by scoring a hat-trick and rounding off with 50 goals in a Blue shirt!! Good luck Nath.

Well done to Nathan and good luck. Everyone loves a player who puts 100% into every match they play in and Nathan certainly did that.

It would be a fitting end to his BTFC career if he signs off with his 50th goal this Saturday.
