yesterday i send an appeal to every esl fan to defend the esl honour going on <a href="htpp://easternfooty.proboards55.com/index.cgi" target="_blank">htpp://easternfooty.proboards55.com/index.cgi</a> so far only crfc boss has done that.very disappointed with that <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />i'm sure the league chairman would like to know what our "big time charlies" from the ridgeons league think about our league.... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

hopefully we will turn it on against crapton. I feel a goal fest coming on.

No thanks! We "saffron Walden" had to spend a year out of league football just to get a move from the shambolic essex going no where league!
Who wants to play fight football in front of 20 odd fans in the middle of a run down part of london?
I'd rather they moved the town into cambridgeshire thanks!

I can only speak as a fan of Clacton, NOT as an official of the Club, but I too feel the same as hgrout. Having played some of these teams in cup competitions and friendlies over the past few years, I would stop attending Clacton matches if we joined the Essex Senior League and had to play in some of their "stadia" and in front of one man and his dog. (And we would probably have to clear up the dog's mess before we could start the games).

They are probably just trying to save the ESL from being killed off as a Step 5 league - certainly it must be one of the favourites to be got rid of (alongside the Kent league) when they reduce the number from 14 to 12. I'd imagine this desperation led to them admitting the simply awful Beaumont Athletic (73 goals conceded in 14 games) at the start of this season.

 

Anyway, the FA have said they don't want county leagues this high - they should be at Step 7, so it looks like it'll be cheerio to the ESL in the near future.

Having had some experiance of the ESL and the grounds at which they play, I can confirm that Places such as Basildon Utd (Ceiling falling in,in changing room) and Bowers and Pitsea (Walk THROUGH Showers to get to the toliets) are certainly not nice places to go,along with Stansted, however you do get good places to go, Concord Rangers have good facilities as have Brentwood Town,Burnham Ramblers,Southend Manor and others. I definatley think that if the better Essex Teams were to merge with the ESL then it would be a quicker way for them to get up the pyramid.Teams like Tiptree,Halstead,Stanway ext would have their travelling cut as would the costs.I'm not saying its the right way to go but there is some logic in it.The football played is different where the ESL is much more Physical (S/end and Basildon influence) but i would say that it may create a really tough Essex League.

Not (I stress) that i feel it is the right way to do things.

I saw Newmarket , who are a mid table team in the Ridgeons prem play in the FA cup against Southend Manor this season. 4-1 Newmarket and Southend Manor , I can honestly say after following Fulbourn last season in Division 1 would struggle to finish mid-table in the Ridgeons division 1.

Having had the "Pleasure" of watching you and your antics in Dug Outs for a couple of years, i must say that i wouldn't go blowing your trumpet too much as im my opinion there is noway you could get near most of the Ridgeons Leagues teams.In the RL there is more football played and ranting and raging on the side of the pitch doesnt cut much mustard,whether you are an Italian wearing and Amarni Suit or not.Every team has its day(Southend and Wycombe) and ESl will always beat Ridgeons League Teams in Cup games but becuase it doesnt happen very often, its a big thing.

Only Brentwood and Concord Rangers would probably cope in the Ridgeons League.Your Hullbridge i feel would be in the Middle of Division 1.

To get excited about a friendly win at Diss Town is something i havent experianced before from a Manager, I cant believe you got excited about it to be fair.

Where are your Hullbridge Team this season, and for someone who was Managing Great Wakering Rovers RESERVES last year,i suggest you go and prove yourself in the ESL and win something worthwhile as you say "The proof in is the Silverware"

However as "Admin" has said ,it's good to have an opinion however clouded it is.
