Basildon Utd v Tilbury (East Anglian Cup 2nd Rd)

 

At Half-Time of Extra-Time, with the score at 0-0, the ref abandoned the game due to fog. No problem with the decision as visibility was very bad.

 

However, to avoid having to replay the game, both teams approached the ref and pleaded with him to go straight to penalties. He refused, saying he did not have the authority to do so and that it would have to be replayed.

 

Now I don't have a problem with the ref as he was only adhering to the rules of the commpetition, but he should have been given discretion to go straight to pens. Now both teams have to accommodate another fixture in an already congested season.

agree Hookey, the ref was going by the rules but if both teams agree then, i say just let it go ahead.

Started at our local in Chelmsford called "The Ship", waited for all our media owners to turn up, then went to an Italian Restuarant called "Cosmopolitan"...
