The game shouldnt have been played last night!

Couldnt see from 1 side of the pitch to the other!

And the pitch was like concrete!!

The lino said to the ref "i cant see the other side of the pitch to give offsides" to which the ref replied "oh right" and then just ran off and carried on!

I settled down to watch Liverpool v Arsenal on the TV, to discover that it was off, because "the spectators at the back of the stands couldn't see all of the pitch"!!! I remember a game there in the 60's I think, when no-one could see anything, and the fans at the end Liverpool were defending kept chanting "Who scored the goal?" every time Liverpool scored. How times have changed - but not at Sawbo, apparently!

i couldnt believe it! i was in the dug out, and we scored in under a minute thru matty kearny. All we could see were shadows and people shouting that we had scored!

There was a bunch of knobhead sawbo fans saying "i cant believe this is being played, its a disgrace". Then wen they went 2-1 up, even tho the fog hadnt cleared, they were all happy for it to continue!!

I didnt want it to get called off coz at least it has taken 1 of my suspended games!

Feb 1968. Cup replay v Walsall. Fog engulfed Liverpool, so only 39,000 fans made it to the game instead of the expected 54,000

After 64 minutes Hateley completed his hat trick at the Anfield Road end, but those in the Kop only knew a goal had been scored due to the roar of the crowd. Needing to find out exactly what happened, they sang 'We want to know who scored', in the full knowledge that soon afterwards the Anfield Road would provide an answer. Sure enough, 'Tony Hateley' was the reply and seven minutes later the ritual was repeated again after Hateley had bagged his fourth. On both occasions, the Kop replied with chants of 'Thank you very much'.
