PAT SAPPLETON - A request from Gate fans!

Well we all know that the players or some of them at least look in here & even if just one player takes a peep I am sure the comments we make on here will get back to the others,in a similar way to that in which we wish the best for the team on matchday.

I thought it might be worthwhile if we remarked on Pat Sappletons contribution since arriving here. He may have mucked us about before & though still having that insurance of a game by game contract I think he has bolstered up our defence no-end & deserves great credit for doing that. He has brought about some stability in defence which has seen us prosper up front because of it.

Trotty is hoping he can retain his services despite possible temptations for Pat to do otherwise,& so do I.

Maybe we can help Trotty out here!

Would be nice to have him on board for the rest of this season to see this through to the end.

Maybe on this thread we can help persuade him to do so.

Your choice, supporters, whether you do but I'll give him my blessing at least & would like to tell him that his presence in the team is very important to the rest of the players.

"PAT,I for one would like you to stay & see this through. You are a valuable part of this first class squad.

How about committing to us for the rest of the season. You are doing yourself good, our team good & the supporters should be proud of & thankful for your part in our success thus far.Its not over by a long way but with your help we can achieve our goal.

Thanks greatly, now how about joining us more permanently to see this through.

With you alongside all our other smart & talented players it can be done"! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

Nice post Cookie. Fully endorse your sentiments. Pat please stay for rest of season and help this great club back to their former glories. You have been an absolute rock in the centre of defence and also seem to have helped the gaffer back to the sort of form he showed last season. Long may it continue.

[color:"blue"]Pat was my vote for November player of the month on three counts, one: his superb defending, two: a long throw that adds another weapon to our strike armoury & three: his presence in the centre of defence inspires the others (especially Trotty)to up their game.

Such an influential player is hard to come across once in a while so when one emerges every effort should be made to keep hold of him.

Equally endorse all of the above, and in particular as Peter says above, how RT has looked so much more accomplished alongside Pat.

Pat should take his inspiration from Sam Sodge-gave it one more season with the 'Gate.

Sam was consistently good and improved his game in that last season with us,and went on to greater things.

Most scouts look for consistency of performance, and you only get that by being part of a settled side.

Pat was my mom at Horsham

Pat the padlock is his name

and stoping strikers is his aim

He ware`s the blue with heart and soul

He might even score us a goal

So stay with us and help us Pat,

These are only words that i can say

But please don`t please don`t go away.

This was written by my daughter Abby , a great fan of Pat Sappleton , She`s only 10 guys , but think it sums up what we all think of Pat , if he reads the forum hope he reads that one . Good topic Cookie . Up the Gate.

Well done abby, what a great little ditty, I wonder if the choir will be able to learn it and sing it at the matches to really get the message across that we must persuade him to stay as he is the keystone of our defence always there winning headers and tackles reading the game so well!

He was my inspiration when I playing at centre back for the supporters team in the second half on sun!

Pat just one question: Have you ever enjoyed your football more and been admired as much as you are while playing for the gate?
