A 3-1 win tonight at Ruisilp has given Edgware a SEVEN point lead with two games in hand over nearest rivals Hertford.

 

I thought it could be tough tonight, but the team did well, and the win leaves us in stong posistion with the next two games against Bigg Town and Haringey, which should see us pick up more points.

 

Goals from Steve Brady, and Lee Gardner, two penaltys, that were PENALTYS <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

 

Will be interesting to see what the Ruislip fans made of the game. I never got to say hello to any of the Ruislip fans that post on here which was a shame.

Gavin, your constant big headness has really got to me now. You are assuming that Haringay will be an easy game, When in the first match you only beat us 3-1 and we had 9 players on the pitch one of which our goalkeeper who got sent off in the first half and a centre back went in goal, i have seen since Rhodes left that this has become the "gavin" forum and you have bored me to tears with it! i dont mind you saying that you want to get promoted but assuming you are there is a fools game

But, to be fair, Edgware are going great guns in the Premier Division and, although Gavin does get a little bit carried away sometimes, his claims are far more realistic than those of a certain other person.

that is fair comment but looking at the board most of the new threads are....Edgware only SSML Hlding it in FA VASE, or Edgware 11 unbeaten games or the title of this one, i am saying its a little too much!!

I see on the Enfield forum that Enfield Horn and his pals are not too happy about it either. What they don't realise is that, whilst the drum is beaten throughout the game, the horn tends only to be blown just as the goalie is about to kick the ball. That, in my book, is a deliberate ploy to put the goalkeeper off (or, in another word, gamesmanship) and is a good enough reason for it to be banned.

Well done Gav, Edgware were the better team on the night. You were though helped on your way by our Goalie who had a night to forget. He should never have allowed himself to be lobbed for the first goal, it was a bad misjudgement. And he actually saved the first penalty then somehow managed to let it squirm in. The first one looked a pen to me, I didn't see the second one though, as I was talking to 'Hair' who had just walked in. But I'm told it was giveable as well.Ironically the penalties came when we were having our best spells of the game, but thats football for you I suppose.

You did look a bit uncomfortable at the back at times, and your keeper needs to calm down a bit on the crosses. Twice he nearly knocked out one of his own defenders after coming miles off his line, not calling and getting nowhere near the ball. If he keeps that up you'll get punished eventually. But you've got the ingredient that all teams need to be successful, namely 'luck'.
