Probably never.

But to give them credit there were two of them with all the right equipment to do the job 'two forks and one water rake'.

The groundsman was there on Sunday, this morning and lunchtime when the referee came for the inspection to do whatever was needed to get the game on.

Its going to adversely effect both clubs as the fixture backlog builds. Its a shame we were forced into arranging the game for the Monday rather than having an extra day to let the pitch recover.

Why are there so many problems this year given that it is one of the warmest and driest on record?

This is not a go at the Windsor Staff, I'm just stating the facts...

The problems this year is proabably due to the changes that have occured in the summer. The pitch had a lot done to it : Earth removed to allow for the irrigation system, and new grass layed.

It all needs time to bed down, including the ground below the surface. Whilst it is continuing to bed down the ground will retain any water that happens to go on it. Especially if it is the amount we have had in the last couple of weeks.

The work done on the pitch was not some 'quick fix' but is more of a long term improvement. if we have one poor season followed by a number of good ones then in the end it's been worth it. However i can understand slough fans moaning about the ground. After all it takes the flack off your team and the off the field problems at your club

Well no matter what you think - your chairman was mighty keen to have Slough play at the shithole known as Slag Meadow/the Black Hole of Charisma this season. So much so that he was prepared to tear up his demands for £25k in advance and instead undercut Maidenhead and make extravagant promises about the works that would be undertaken on the ground in general and the pitch in particular. In addition he promised that no training would take place on the pitch and that alternative arrangements had been made at a local school pending completion of the training pitch behind the ground. I know exactly what was said becuase I was at the meeting. Unlike you, Mal, Windsor Sec or Chels. The only person from Windsor in the meeting was your chairman together with Board Members of the Slough Trust, Roy and Eddie.

Your Chairman was telling us that the works to the ground would be a "quick fix" because the main concern of our players and manager at the time was the state of the pitch and we were quite prepared to move elsewhere on the right terms (although IMO the pitch at Maidenhead would be no better).

Sadly none of these promises seem to have been met. The drainage system went in but too late.

Unfortunately other issues have now taken precedence over our pitch concerns but our plight is not being helped by the fact that we have played one league game in six weeks and will now find ourselves in a situation where we will be playing three times in a week which will not help the Slag Meadow pitch either.

Any chance of banning the Windsor "mob" whilst being registered only. I find there smugness at being a midtable side, with no fans in a division below us (for the rest of this season at least) grating.

The sooner we get away from Windsor the better.

Martin - windsor fans only come on here as F-all happens on their own forum!!

Windsor has well and truly $hit on slough this season - a pitch that is no better than last & could possibly be classed as worse considering what they claim to have spent. No impovement to the ground even though I and others offered to part fund cover behind the goals. And worst of all they let go 3 of their duff players, who only came to slough for the money they could extort under false pretences of "always wanting to play for Slough"!!!

Possibly both, possibly neither.

It is up to the individual ref on the day.

The ref that was supposed to do your game on Monday is doing our game on Saturday and he said that even with the game off on Monaday and ressies off on Wednesday that it would still only be 50/50 for Saturday.

Now, if we don't play Saturday then you will more than likely play on Tuesday, weather permitting.

Just because the weather stays dry doesn't mean that the pitch will be playable as you found the other week. The problem there was the frost brought all the moisture to the surface creating surface water and soft areas. The day before the game it was looking fine.
