I believe Nathan wants to have a crack at scoring 50 goals for us and I think that he will want to have a good send off...

 

Nathan loves BTFC and I don't think he will insult us with an attitude of anything less than he has given over the past couple of seasons but I do think that it will give Matt and the management an opportunity to see how Rikki Burbridge shapes up...

 

..and he is in every way as agressive as Nathan.

Just like to add that Nathan never gives anything less than 100% effort out there playing for Billericay. I think you can say he wears his shirt with pride. Anyone who is good enough to move up a few levels in my opinion needs to have a go at it. Somehow, i doubt whether Nath will ever forget his time at Billericay.

I agree with you, and i wasnt knocking nathan, but lets face it, if you had the chance of the big time and you had two more games left to go (one being a local derby), I wouldnt blame Nathan one little bit if he did hold back a little in his last games. It certainly wouldnt be a reflection on him as a whole as his effort has got him to where he is going.

I wouldn't pick Nathan from now on if he is to leave in January.

 

1) If Nathan did play and picked up a bad injury it would be bad news all round, both for him and for us if we are to receive a fee for him.

 

2) I don't doubt for one minute that Nathan has enjoyed his time here and wouldn't put in a decent performance, but as anyone who has changed jobs would know it's virtually impossible to be as enthusiastic during your "notice" period.

 

3) If we are going to have to do without him we might as well start now and look forward. Burbridge deserves a start anyway and of course we now have Lloyd Blackman available. I would start Burbridge and Flack on Saturday with Blackman and Holland on the bench.

jl. Agree with most of your points, but just feel it would be a great shame for such a popular player as Nathan not to have one last run-out in the Blue Shirt and say good-bye properly, and hopefully with a goal (or two).

Anyway, still no news on where exactly he's off to (?) so we may all be being a bit "previous".

The putting of the statement on your website was not meant to be detrimental to Nathan or Billericay but, was done so as it may of be of interest to the supporters.

 

No points were sought to be made by it therefore, TC I think your comments are unhelpfull. After all we at HDP have a special affection for New Lodge and, always look forward to our visits there.

Well if you read Trott's comments they come across as very arrogant in my opinion, a bit rich coming from someone who has got, well almost a whole season's managerial experience behind him.

Some clubs take a chance on young players in the hope that can take what they've already got, see their potential and hopefully improve them. That's what we do at Billericay and it seems it's what some clubs in the football league do too. Other clubs elect to spend their budgets on short-termism, fully exposed playing staff, and non league journeymen. That's their prerogative.

I know which camp I'd rather be in.

My beef is that Robin is suggesting Nathan is not good enough to to get into your team, to quote " because he would have been sitting on our Bench"

 

Now you didn't expect me to agree with that did you?

 

I don't want to get into a debate about this because football is about opinion, and everyone is entitled to their view. no- doubt we will have a few others who will for the purpose of a wind up, (not you Joseba) pass 'opinion' upon Nathans ability.

 

I just thought it was a poor comment for Robin to make, imo.

In hindsight maybe I should left the comment about sitting on the bench out. However, it was probally put in to pacify the moaning brigade (yes we have them at HDP like everyone else) who may have seen it as the signing as a threat to that excellent Billericay export Danny Hockton.

 

Anyway to get back on thread I hope Nathan does get a good move out of the 'premiership' to a football league club. He changed the game against us when he came on so it will be a pleasure not to see him at HDP this season.

 

PS tell Gazza cameras are not banned at HDP so he can get flashing on 27th Feb.

Thanks J but it's an evening game and I require a professional flash gun...It's Xmas but me Missus has said that I've been in such a grumpy mood recently, I'm not getting anything for Xmas and just bread and water for Xmas lunch <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

 

I will bring it along tho just in case

 

And all that after I pawned the family jewels to buy her pressie!!!
