Edgware stretch unbeaten run to 11 games

Recommended Posts

Edgware ran out 3-0 winnners this afternoon against a Langford side, that to their credit never gave up and tired to play the ball on the floor.

Edgware started somewhat slowly, but took the lead on 16 mins from a well taken free kick on the left by Phil Kane, which was met by a pinpoint header from leading scorer Richard Morton.

Langford tested Rob Blackburne in the 'Wares' goal, and had thier finnishing been better, they would have got on the scoresheet.

Stuart Blackburne, Steve Brady, and Adam Wallace all came close in the first period, however Edgware went in at the break with the one goal cushion.

The second half was a lot more productive from Edgware's point of view as they took the game to the visitors. Phil Kane was working his magic down the left flank, the second goal came from the young Kane, when the ball was played to him from the right wing and he smashed his first time shot into the net to make the score 2-0.

Langford were still trying to play football to thier credit, and they carved out several chances, one of which shaved the top of the crossbar.

Gavin Hart put the game beyond any doubt, with Edgwares' 3rd.

It was the kind of match that could have ended up with a scoreline of 6-3, it was an entertaining match.

LOL, it was somewhat bright, I think it's their away kit, as there is a picture of them in an all yellow kit on thier website.

I said it looked like Partick Thistle, as I am sure they had a kit like that once.

Langford were a decent enough to side, they passed the ball around well, and were unlucky not have got on the score sheet. As I mention in my report, on another day the score could have ended up 6-3, fair play to them for coming and trying to play football.

Big game on Monday night away to Ruislip, as it will cut our games in hand to two over Hertford and one over Leverstock. If we can get the 3pts it will take us 7pts clear with another away game at bottom of the table Bigg Town on Sat.

I dont think the Ruislip game will be easy, and its actully a while since we won awayin the league, with the last two away league games being draws, our last away win was at WGC on October 21st!!

We thought it looked like Melchester Rovers (Roy of the Rovers). Langford are BOTTOM of the league in the current form over last six games table - 4 points from 18. Oxhey are top, and WGC (with their Barnet players) second!

Was it played behind closed doors?

No, that's their usual crowd - few old men sitting in the stand!

well we cant all have great suppport like Romford can we !!!!

Actually our crowds have gone up steadily, from a very poor average of 40ish last season to just under 80.

We may not have a great support, but we have a GREAT team and thats what's important

Haha, very funny Horace, it must be great at Hertford when you get big crowds and you STILL lose at home.

Seven league games played at home SEVEN wins.

Still playing catch up arent you !!!!!!!!

I heard the dog enjoyed itself

Yes its not even xmas yet (well not till next week and we still have 24 league games to play.

As I said above, a win tomorrow at Ruislip is important as it will open the gap between us and you to 7pts with two games in hand.

I see Leverstock Green took a leaf out of Edgware's book yesterday- saved a point with a 90th imnute penalty! Can't wait to hear from Lato or Spidermanor!

Langford are a small family run Club and many of the officials and commitee members attend all games. There are only two (three if I bring my dog) supporters who attend all home and away games. The few 'old men' in the stand are actually the 'ULTRAS' and I advise you not to mess with them. We have a problem that if any particular player starts to shine then the UCL premier clubs in our area start sniffing around

The Kit does come in for criticism, and is the same as worn by both Valencia and Galatasary a couple of seasons ago

Regarding yesterday, I though Edgware Town were the best side we had played this season and although their Goalkeeper made some excellent saves, I don't think there was going to be any result, other than an Edgware win, we had to play really well just to keep it at three.

Very impressed with their No 2 and 3

First post, so I apologise if it is not as hilarious as some of the regulars on this forum

I wasn't there so I can't comment fully . Apparently from what I heard it was a case of two points lost on our part as we should have won.

I will be at Manor v Edgware tomorrow. Me and the rest of the Manor massive will be behind the goal we are attacking into. Hopefully the Sway can add to his 29 goals and we pinch a win and do the rest of the league a favour but it will be tough against an obviously good side.

The Manor Massive LOL, well hopefully there should be a decent crowd at your place, as that is the reason you play on Monday's isnt'? I haev not been to your ground since the late 70's when I was a kid, and I thnk we beat you 4-1 with Peter Shoedidne scoring !!!!

I think we will win 2-1.

Hardly, more a case of Leverstock saving themselves, they are on the slippery slope downwards.

As I always said, top three wil be Edgware Hertford Harefield...prob in that order
