So bad........ yet so good!

How can they play with such a lack of skill, passion and commitment for the majority of the game and still win 4-1.

A great result, dont get me wrong but a worrying trend.

i thought the movement and passing worked well today, although in stages it didnt look very pretty but also upthegate take into account that the pitch was tearing up and looked pretty boggy and in those conditions you are not going to get perfect footy

Hendon should be proud of their efforts from what I saw but our class told in the end & it could easily have been 7 in the end.Two hit the bar(one I thought was definitely over the line). A disappointing home showing again(conditions didn't help though Hendon adapted to them better for the most of the game)but a result that was ground out in the end today.It showed the character of this team rather than the skills today I thought.To win convincingly in the end & not be at their best shows how good this team really are & can be. Lets hope they peak again at Deadwood. Now wouldn't that be the icing!

Hendon were better than some Ive seen Danny. They certainly aren't the worst despite their bottom league position.They will take points of others this season,no doubt about it.Credit to them for pushing us as they did.

Hopefully take points of other top 6 teams, but I cant see it. They pushed us for the first 30 min but we sat back and were guilty of "playing botton of the league" syndrome. Dont think they had anyone upfront or in mid park ? They did score a good free kick tho ?

I dont think Hendon are crap,at times they played some good football,yes the pitch was very heavy but at times they looked like a reasonable side that will take pionts off other clubs.IMO it got better for us when Jay and Skinns came on,all in all a good day for the GATE,well done the boys in BLUE.

Even taking the pitch into account i'm afraid we were still poor for the majority of the game. They dug in well and ground out a good result but there are too many worrying signs i fear.

Perhaps I watched a different game. tell me what chances they created ? use of space ? Pinnock was winning flick on where were thier centre backs ?

It is very satisfactory that we can play not to our best but still win.

Hendon not the worst team I have seen this season, and very good to the second touch.

But we won by a huge margin, I cannot for the life of me see anything worrying in that trend!

we were apalling in the first 30 minutes (the worst i think we have played this season) up until we scored and after when we equalised we took control of the game and just about deserved the victory. Second half was easy for us and we bossed the game without creating too many chances, but who cares how we won the fact is we won and WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE!!!!

THE WORRYING TREND IS THAT WE ARE PLAYING SO POORLY AT HOME.a decent side would have been 2 or 3 up on us at half time.pinnock should have had a hat trick he needs to work very hard on his heading and control.i really think that without danny we would have lost today he was terrific in everything he did

Was it really Justin Skinner coming on in the second half that turned the game........I think so but maybe I am biased.

It would have been a different story if we had won the toss and kicked off with our backs to the sun. That sun was a big advantage.

 

Still, it won't happen next season with the pitch turned 90° (if that comes about).

The joint introduction of Skinner & Saunders seemed to lift the team I thought.Skinner in particular started to make things happen whereas(& dare I say this)Standen just does the job that his position requires of him & not much more. Now I didnt see the first 25 minutes so I might be a bit unfair here but Skinner DID make a difference I thought,not just because he fitted in well with Jacko again but because the whole team seemed to play better from that point onwards.Skinner & Saunders should have started i.m.o but maybe Trotty was just trying to give Dean & Paul another run out,second chances, immediately after having done good the game before. Either that or Trotty was taking Hendon too lightly in the first place by playing Dean & Abbo.Thats a dangerous way to go if indeed that was his thinking.
