Just wanted to say a big thank you from the Hampton lads for this morning.

Particularly to Martin for organising at your end - and to your fella for reffing the whole match.

Look forward to the chance of avenging our defeat later in the season <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Good luck in any games you play till then

Well done everyone, especially Russ who kept Hampton at bay on numerous occasions, Laurence for being solid in goal as ever, and the two youngsters Jonathan and Brian for outstanding performances. Hard to believe one of them is only 14. Nice to get the first win in supporters matches and a clean sheet to go with it.

Young lads for us were easily man/boys of the match.

As Martin said one of the most positive aspects of the supporters trust is the sponsorship of this youth team. Maybe they should all get a christmas present of a free ticket for the ashford home game? (lucky lads)

Thought Russell had a good game as well, and of course our keeper. I played [****!!****] and then had to hobble back to Brighton like a very old man.

DISCLAIMER: This report may be wrong and I may have got the Slough Juniors players names muddled up!

Slough Town 2-0 Hampton & Richmond

MARK RADFORD’s second goal in as many matches helped an under strength Slough supporters side claim victory over Hampton & Richmond Borough supporters.

Without the missing Marcus Kirby unavaliable through a mysterious ‘bug’ picked up during a heavy night drinking things were always going to be tough.

But as soon as the match started after Charlie's expert warm-up things just got tougher. Star midfielder/Dangerman Chris Boxall who was “in the mood to do some damage after a crap week” picked up a re-occurrence of his poxy back injury that has kept him out of powerleague, and with fellow midfield dynamo Liam getting “the the s***e out of his knee “ and limping off too things did not look good.

That did not effect the start though, as the Rebels raced into a two-goal lead. The first came following a quick throw-in found which found AFC Wimbledon penalty king Radders. He saw his toe-punt fly into the back of the net.

Soon after the Rebels doubled their lead with Slough Junior Jonathan racing onto a poor clearance to coolly slot home and add to the advantage.

With both Dominique-Jean Ashford and Matt Cousins limping off for five minutes due to broken fingernails the home side were pushed back - with the Beavers unlucky not to pull a goal back before half-time.

Due to this Beavers pressure a tactical masterstroke by Gaffer/Captain/Match Organiser/Person out on a work do the night before/Martin saw the Rebels decide to play with three centre backs, with Jonathan deployed as a lone front man with Radders joining him when he could be arsed to run.

The plan worked perfectly with Hampton having a lot of the ball, but the outstanding defence of Kevin, Brighton Rebel, Brian the Gaffer/Captain/Match Organiser and in particular Cedric Russell thwarting any early attacks.

However as the half wore on Hampton began to look more dangerous as the Rebels lack of fitness and late night drinking the previous night kicked in. This forced goalkeeper Lawrence Cousins, who was outstanding in the previous game against Farnborough into three or four outstanding saves.

These chances for the away side seemed to kick the Rebels into life though, as both Matty Webb and Dan began to keep the ball much better in midfield, and with Dominique-Jean Ashford heckled on by Liam on the touchline it looked as though Slough could claim a third on the counter attack.

With time running out in a desperate attempt to pull a goal back a pathetic attempt to win a penatlty by Alan “Do you want to buy a 2005 Bryco Cup Final DVD” Devonshire’s brother Lee saw Graham Poll, (oh I mean Gary Thomas) wave away the claims.

Rebels: Lawrence, Kevin, Martin©, Russ, Brighton Rebel, Chris, Liam), Dom, Matt C, Jonathan, Radders. Subs Used: Matt W, Dan,Brian and someone else whose name eludes me.
