Boxing Day segregation

Rob, 'tis easy if you work hard enough at it.

As to why it has not happened at Clarence Park, I cannot comment, but it is happening at little ol' Braintree. Work is underway.

£35k for Hakim? Unlikely in my opinion. That said, I was surprised to see him play at Stortford.

As to the need for 600? No. We've received written confirmation that seating required for the National division is 500. The next upgrade for us will be to 1,000 seats or relocation to a Football League graded ground.

You make it sound so easy IW. I wonder why we haven't already done it.

In the Cambridge Utd programme (away) it said something about the council not giving permission to improve CP. Hence the need to look elsewhere. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

That would surprise me. I always found St. Albans District Council very supportive of the Club. They supported the Club's planning application for the fence around the ground, etc. and I had a series of further meetings with planning officers who indicated that they would recommend support for the additional improvements required at Clarence Park.

And to that add Kidderminster, Forest Green, R&D and dare I say it, our own beloved Broadhall Way. The fact is that most teams in this league are gearing up their grounds for League football, regardless of how preposterous that prospect in reality is.

I genuinely say this without rancour or side, merely as an observer who visited your quaint little patch yesterday, but your ground is comfortably one of, if not the, worst in this league. It took us all back a decade or more to our days in the various junior leagues. Trust me, when we are comparing Hitchin favourably to your ground, you can be assured it aint good!

All the best in getting it all improved - please would you concentrate on the toilets at the away end first as all I can say is, thank god it wasn't raining!

Hitchin !!! - Do me a favour. Wooden terracing and bike shed stands.

While agreeing that CP could do with a lot of improvement (including the toilets). It does have character and history going for it and is not some souless concrete waste of space.

Anyway why pick on the Park - I wasn't particularly impressed with D&R or Tamworth's grounds for what is worth.
