January Transfer Window

I have just read the back of the Gravesend Express, and it says:

"Liam Daish declared he will "shake things up" when the January transfer window opens after seeing his side comfortably beaten at Stevenage on Saturday"

So, what sort of players, if any, is Liam Daish planning on bringing in? What players, if any, will be released?

I think another defender will need to be brought into the squad, seeing that it is not up to scratch at the moment. I do not see the need for anymore midfielders. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Clearly we need another defender, ideally a specialist right back, which would allow Ricketts more chance either as a wing back or holding midfielder.

We could also use another experienced striker, as both Luke & Onome lack consistency and experienced.

Who would go?

Ekoku, Roberts, Purcell, Anderson all seem very surplus and fringe squad players - releasing 4 would free up cash for 2/3 players who could genuinely hold down a first team spot.

Worthy of debate?

Purcell features on the bench regularly so would appear to be in the plans - he is one for the future and has shown in his limited appearances he has something - away at St Albans, hitting the post at Cambridge for example.

Ekoku may well be on his way with his extremely limited appearances - Anderson too despite looking OK against Stafford but we can't afford to let too many go without replacing them - a bench with McKenna, Akinde etc on it doesn't seem very strong.

I'd like to see another tall striker brought in as well as some full back cover.

Maybe Hawkins as well? He's not the best of defenders.

He's been one of our better performers in recent weeks, and is in the first team on merit at the moment if we play three centre-backs (or, indeed, in a 4-4-2 if Ricketts is absent or in midfield, since he can also play at full-back).
