Okay, it's not a football related thread, but since it effects many people in Castle Point (and Hornchurch/Upminster) and there appears to be no other online forum, I thought I'd post it here.

Whats does everyone think? Is it a shambles or what?

My view is that c2c are trying to up the passenger density (number of people they squeeze into a single carriage).

I'm sure this is a cost cutting exercise but wouldn't be surprised if they tried to introduce a First Class option on the back of this, in a similar way to how Ken allegedly had all the lights rephased to hold up traffic prior to the introduction of the Congestion Charge at which point they were all phased back. Effectively what you do is reduce the quality of the service to cr*p, then charge everyone extra to get back to the level they previously had.

Ever since they've changed the timetable the trains of a morning are always late. They've added an extra train at 8.41 before the 8.47 that I normally get to Basildon.

I thought great, get to work a bit earlier. Every morning this week the train has usually been delayed or cancelled. What a bloody joke!!!

One of main reasons I took flight to the West Country a couple of years back was to escape that nightmare ratrace trip to London with C2C. I didn't fancy doing that journey everyday for my last 20 years before retiring. The only downside is a 600 mile round trip for a home game.

I understand your frustrations totally. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

They can't please everyone. c2c won't be bringing in a first class service on their trains, because there isn't the facilities for it. The trains on that line shouldn't change for the next twenty years.

Anyway, I don't use that line enough to notice any changes to timetable, so I can't really comment.

According to today's Evening Echo, C2C have backed down under the weight of complaints they have had and will be amending the timetable from next Monday 17th onwards.
