Surely no one would give him a job????

Former England, Spurs, Glasgow Rangers and Chelsea `legend` Graham Roberts has declared his interest in the vacant managerial position at British Gas Business Southern League Premier Division King`s Lynn.

Defender Roberts (pictured), 47, who has a wealth of experience at both League and non-League level, said: “The job at King’s Lynn really appeals to me and it looks a very good set-up.

“I know I can do the job and I know the non-League scene well. I’ve put my name in and we’ll just wait and see if the clubcome back to me.”

The much-travelled Roberts said he was impressed with what he saw of Lynn in their FA Cup Second Round clash with Oldham.

“Lynn acquitted themselves very well and I also watched a video of their game against Bisho`’s Stortford where they played some very good football.

“It looks a big club and I’d love the chance to take them on to the next level. The level of support against Oldham and at Bishop`s Stortford was fantastic.”

Born in Southampton, Roberts began a glittering playing career in non-League football before signing for Tottenham, where he scored 23 goals in 209 appearances.

Spells with both Rangers and Chelsea followed, before ending his playing days at West Brom.

During his twelve-year career as a player, Roberts, who was an uncompromising defender, won the FA Cup (twice), the UEFA Cup, the Scottish Premier League title and the Scottish League Cup.

He was in charge of Scottish First Division side Clyde last season and led The Bully Wee’s to a famous Scottish Cup victory over Celtic.

Roberts, who is also in contention for another managerial position, has tasted glory at non-League level, leading Enfield, Boreham Wood and Carshalton Athletic to league success as manager as well as having a successful spell in the Conference with Yeovil.

Former Rushden & Diamonds boss Paul Hart, Boston United coach Paul Raynor and ex-Grantham Town chief Lee Glover have also been linked with the position, along with current caretaker bosses Shaun Carey and Dean West.

I watched Kings Lynn play Windsor & Eton last week. If he takes the job, I hope he's got a good gob and can give the officials plenty of abuse, because it seemed to be the way KL like to play !

'Nuff said ?
