No "Angels" theme Gazza? Missed an opportunity for a bit of Nazareth! Not to mention The Glitter Band, Eurythmics and of course Robbie. Look forward to Saxon though!

Well, you can't please all the people all the time, although I do try to please most of the people...But there is a bit of Bruce Springsteen, Level 42 and I think you will like the Coldplay track as it's the version from Rhythms Del Mundo album...which gives it a latin feel...very good version. I expect you to shake yer maraccas at that one. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Cover versions...now there is a whole new discussion. A song is a song and in some cases the most popular isn't nessecary the original. I don't mind 'em but there are two ways to appraoch them. If you're going to be faithful to the original, then do them well...

If an artist is going to do them and put their stamp on them, then make it special...or unusual.

Then again, who is there to say what is a good version or bad version? It's a matter of taste and I would suggest that (for example)Emma Bunton's version of Downtown is not appreciated more because of who she is and the classic status of the song (the same could be said about Take That's version of The Bee Gee's "How Deep Is Your Love") than her version and the way she has done it. In my opinion, hearing the song a couple of times, it remains faithfull to the original and isn't that bad.

Music is really down to personal taste and there isn't really any "bad" music (well, that damn "frog" ring tone thing does "buck" the music tag, IMO). The problem is, when you have such a wide audience (like before a football match), it is difficult to please everyone. Some weeks, you please one audience...others you please another...It's a no win situation...but it's fun.
