Disgusting although it's probably a worse crime to have one and not keep it updated.

I think any website is useful if it gives information about the club such as its history.

BTW Rhodes, which particular website were you referring to as not being up to date? It can't possibly be Haringey's, as that is as up to date as Kentish Town's at the moment.

Disgusting although it's probably a worse crime to have one and not keep it updated. Your odds are 40/1 to win the Vase, I've just checked with my bookie mate but you can't double it up with the tenner you already have running on the league bet at 6/1.

...
Yes no website that I can find, for a team who have come top 3 for the last couple of seasons and are top currently.

40/1 sounds good, any idea who the favourite is?

Is that I can or CAN'T double it up with my league bet?

Whitehawk are consistently the best club in the Sussex County League in the past six seasons or so. The ground is basic and it slopes. They are favourites to finish at least top two this season. Managed by former Brighton and Hove Albion favourite Ian Chapman, who has a dual role coaching at the Seagulls. Hard team to break down. The ground is literally a stones throw from Kemp Town. And as you point out, one of the few Div 1 sides with no website.

This will be a very hard game for your lads... Whitehawk are a class side.

They drew 1-1 with Brighton and Hove Albion Reserves in the Sussex Senior Cup last week, no mean feat!

Thanks for the info, but we CAN beat them, and I am sure WE WILL. Just because they are top means nothing to us, we have already knocked out Brentwood Town who are top of the Essex senior league and are still unbeaten.

I dont know the standard of the Sussex county league, in your opinion how strong is it?

They dont have a website which IMO is really poor specailly for a club top of their division.

Cheers again for the info.

If we go on the strength of the SCFL this year, the Sussex County League had the most sides left in the Vase in the South/South East coming into the previous round, and the second most in the country. Still have Whitehawk and Eastbourne Town left in the vase, with Three Bridges playing their postponed replay this Saturday. The other three sides, Wick, Selsey and Hailsham Town lost in the previous round, although that was partly due to Selsey and Wick losing to fellow County League opponents!

Don't get me wrong, I didn't say you can't beat them, I have no affiliation with Whitehawk, other than to support the Sussex teams in the national competitions. But they are very tough to break down, very quick going forward and will be favourites on their sloping pitch, and yes I guarantee it will be cold and windy!

Being the web developer/designer of the EPFC website, and ex programme editor, I agree that it is disappointing for senior clubs not to have websites. Thankfully, Whitehawk are one of the few not to have one in the SCFL.

While I'm about it, I now live between Haringey and Sussex, half and half... been looking at Haringey's form, and was wondering if they are worth a visit, as I don't get to all my EP games nowadays due to living in N4.

I took a look at your website, and its very good, well done.

Haringey have improved since the start of the season, their form was awafull and they lost 0-9 at home to Hertford!. After that match they singed over 13 new players, and when we beat them 3-1 away, they did not seem that bad.

Looking at the draw for the Vase, Sussex clubs have done well, we are the last remaining club from the SSML, as the other four we knocked out last weekend.

What worries me more is the conditon of the pitch, and the slope, also from a fans point of view, the fact there is very little shelter in the ground, and what there is has no seats for our older fans.

I can just picture it, a freezing cold day, the wind coming in from the sussex downs which are right by the far side of the ground, and the rain falling heavilly.

We will ALL have to be up for this game, as I stated before, if conditions are bad in the run up the match it would not supprise me if it was postponed and a midweek trip needed.

I would take a draw, but I think we could edge it but it may well take extra time on the day.

...

True, but depends if B&HA had a strong team out. WE beat Brentford 6-1 in the Middx cup, but they had their youth team playing, albeit the team that had knocked arsenal out of the FA youth cup.

Brighton played a full strength reserves with Dean Wilkins in the dugout.

Think I may pop along to Haringey for the 23rd home game then. Weren't they coached/managed by an ex Brighton player?

The sloping pitch will be an advantage to the Hawks. Not much shelter, and no seats. Needs a lot of upgrading. At present the ground doesn't befit the team, and I wouldn't expect the game to be called off unless there is 5 inches of snow!

I see that Whitehawk have NOT applied for promotion, I would expect this is down to the ground, do they have money at Whitehawk to improve the ground, or are they happy to stay in the Sussex county league?

I would imagine the Isthmian league is where they would be promoted?

No they are refreshingly not a money payer, but by the same account are not flush to go revamping the ground. Ian Chapman commands a lot of respect as a manager in the county and people want to play for him. They will stay county league for a while yet. We feed to the Isthmian from Sussex yes.

Would you say they have one of the worst ground in the Sussex county league? What is the clubhouse like?

Who has the best support and best ground in the league?

In our league the best ground as in stands etc, is prob ours, then Harefield United, with Hertford Town as well (though I have not been to all the SSML grounds as we have had 9 away games to date) Brimsdown in Div 1 have a nice tidy ground as Enfield Town groundshare there

You think we could win the FA Vase bob? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

I would like us to reach the 5th round at least, so as to equal the clubs best run that came in 91/92, when our manager Steve Newing was then a player in the Edgware side.

Of course if we can reach the 6th round it will set a new club record <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

One of the interesting things that the I was told the joint managers had said to the players is that, this is prob the best chance to win the FA Vase EVER, because, the holders are out, the Favourites FC United are out,

Also, because if we win promotion this season we will NOT play in the Vase next season, and if we do play in the Vase again, it will be prob because we have been relegated back to the SSML and the team will not be as strong as it is now.

So this is our best chance of FA Vase glory, prob EVER in our history, I still put the league as priority #1, but it would be beyond words if Edgware made it to the final of a national cup like the Vase, to win it, would be just be unreal, and to win it at Wembley <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

No they have pretty much average facilities for Sussex County. Not the greatest facilities around the County. Clubhouse is ok, large, bit bare but better than a lot.

Best facilities? Hmmmm Eastbourne Town (still in the Vase), Three Bridges (still in the Vase), also the two best supported clubs in County 1. Hassocks facilities are getting better year on year... ex club of Matthew Harding.

Reading this thread has made me very emotional, i thought we (Wembley) had a good chance this year and came a cropper away to northampton f u c k i n g spencer on a tues night with a floodlight failure leading to a 45 min delay and my sending off. and them inbred w a n k e r s scoring with me off the pitch, gutted so with us going strong in the CCL and hopefully promotion on the cards means the Fa trophy, which is a much harder propostion so my vase dream is over!!!

First off, nice pic wembley way <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> secondly, Wembley are having their best season for a long time same, just as we are having our best for years, its good to see local teams doing well, well, and wealdstone doing bad LOL, shame about Hendon doing so bad though <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Yes the FA Trophy would be a good cup to be in, though it would be tough as all those qualifying rounds to get through, but you could get a draw at somewherel like Dartford which would be good to go to with their new ground.

What are the chances of promotion for Wembley this season? have you applied and have the leaders applied? Will more then one club be promoted?

Ok, I have to end there, as those tits are really off putting when typing LOL
