'The Mighty' Brimsdown Rovers v Kentish Town - Division 1 Cup - 17 January

Recommended Posts

Folks - I know this match is over a month away but as it will be by far the biggest game of the SSML season so far, and arguably the final itself, I just wanted to give you good people plenty of opportunity to get your views in. Obviously we can continue to use the thread afterwards for post match banter and pics etc. Happy posting!

No, I purposely didn't say that and make it the SSML game of the season full stop, as was the case when we went there earlier in the season in the league, if you recall, in that never to be forgotten 2-2 thriller.

grow up rhodes and stop stirring. You know as perfectly well as everyone on this board that a SSML Division One cup quarter final is not the biggest game in the SSML so far. That would be like saying Nottingham Forest v Yeovil in a Johnstone paint Trophy Southern Section quarter final is the biggest game in English professional football.

As I've said before you are either deliberately annoying just to get a reaction and attention or just plain deluded.

To be fair, Kentish Town look to have improved a lot this season. In the previous three seasons in the SSML they have been a below mid table side and this time round they are doing well in the top five.

Whether they will be good enough to finish in a promotion place is obviously open to debate but they are doing better than I thought they would so far.

I think this says it all, we are in fourth place four points behind Cockfosters and two behind 'the mighty' Brimsdown Rovers who are second, how does that not put us in the running for promotion. Brimsdown are a good side but Cockfosters, with all due respect, were actually the worst we have faced all season and they caught us on a bad hair day cleverly using their tight postage stamp pitch to their advantage.

I see that Cockfosters have "cleverly used their tight postage stamp pitch to their advantage" 8 times out of 8 so far this season! 24 points out of 24 - worst team you have faced so far????

What are Cockfosters meant to do with their pitch? Use a bigger one for the arrival of KTFC? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> NO Cockfosters have recruited well, experienced players from a higher level something which the KTFC manager is incapable of doing as he needs to keep all the lads he has had for years on the team and of course his son. Then you have very badly spoken english by a little known ex footballer and a even lesser known coach you cannot pass his exams. Hope that clears it up.

Rhodes, KTFC have not achieved anything and are not in the running for promotion. You even ruled out promotion yourself in one of your posts yesterday.

Well what can I say, four interesting posts from InformationZone2, 3praise, Horace and of course Potters Bar Town who had to get in on the act. If I ruled out promotion for Kentish Town in a post yesterday I certainly don't remember doing so unless I was under the influence of alcohol. As for the the hallowed Chalk Lane turf I was not being disrespectful to Cockfosters and 'postage stamp' was just an expression, fair play to them for the run they are currently on but I think it will come to an abrupt halt when they visit us on 30 December. As for the two points 3praise makes I have been doubled up on the floor laughing since I read them, firstly we are sharing Hendon's ground which is one of the most historical and highly regarded in non-league circles, why should we want to move elsewhere before the end of the season. As for your comment about the Club folding I finally know who you are thanks to that, you're Pete Doherty aren't you as you have to be on something, how's Kate Ross, sorry Moss by the way, give her my love.

Let me remind you then, Rhodes.

The jury is still out on 'the mighty' Brimsdown Rovers and fair play to them for winning ten of their eleven games so far this season... Stony Stratford Town are probably the only other contenders for promotion.
