Didn't that happen to them before?

I remember the season the SSML lost our application for promotion so it never got submitted to the FA. The League Secretary was adamant that he hadn't received it until I reminded him that I had placed it in his hand at a League meeting! We didn't know anything about it until the list came out after the date had passed and the FA didn't want to know even though it wasn't our fault. I remember I "advised" the League that they should circulate a list in future seasons BEFORE the closing date so that no other club would suffer the same fate. They did so the following season (when we did go up)but I don't know if they ever carried on doing that. At least the applications go straight to the FA these days!

Potters Bar Town - Well that's typical of you, I haven't criticised his Website, I just pointed out that it's advisable to be armed with a box of match sticks when you do go on there that's all.

Well fair do's but that's not what I call criticising the site, I was actually talking about the Forum as the site itself is well maintained, always up to date and highly popular. It's the Forum I'm not the World's biggest fan of and what I was referring to in the post you have typically highlighted in order to try and make me look silly, there are far too many anoraks of Crewe station proportions on there with their notebooks and corned beef sandwiches.

I am not offended by the "criticism". Taking the site first, please let me know what improvements, changes you would like to see and also which bits you don't like and why. Please let me have any criticisms so that I can do something about it rather than make comments in closed shops.

Granted, there are some anoraks who post on the message board particularly in the groundhopping section. These often make me cringe as I don't really understand that sort of mentality.

There are some posters who write an essay each time they post. However, there are also some useful and sometimes interesting snippets of information about the non-league game posted on other parts of the board by others who have a deep understanding of the English non-league game.

Basically, every forum/message board has its mixture of different types with different points of view and that is what makes most of them OK.

Mr Kempster - It is a great honour to have you posting on our Forum and I think it has taken us all aback slightly that you have come on today, thanks for taking the trouble to do so. As you will have observed this Forum is very unlike your own and much of it is kept light hearted however that doesn't detract from the fact that we too have a deep understanding and love of the non-league game. My personal comments about your Forum, or message board as you prefer to call it, were not intended to be critical, indeed I am a member myself, however it can be a little 'over the top' at times hence my regular references to anoraks. Anyway thanks again for coming on and introducing yourself to us.

Well someone had to, you all just ignored the man for an hour after he came on with his earlier post saying he wasn't offended in the slightest by my comments. Tony may have been registerred since 2003 but I'm assuming his visits are few and far between and I have not known him to come onto this SSML Forum since it started up some six months ago, the man is a living legend in non-league circles so obviously I am going to go down on bended knee in a 'we are not worthy' fashion to him Clement Temile style.

I tend to only visit other forums/message boards when I pick up in my website stats that they have referred someone to my site through placing a link.

I will then post on the forum/message board if I feel I can add anything to the thread - in this case an explanation of how promotion from step 5 will work at the end of the season. If I cannot add anything to the discussion, I just read - and I've done that often on this forum since 2003.
