Any feedback on yesterdays performance?

For the few that travelled how did we play? The Hereford forum suggests we were poor and we had a world class keeper in Jamie Turner yesterday keeping the score respectable?

Attended the game yesterday there was around 50-60 Fleet fans, we played as well as we were allowed to, Hereford were quicker, more determined and unfortunatly the better team, we gifted them two goals really straight from the restart they attacked we held back rather than close down and they scored then a dreadful back pass a minute later by Aaron gave Jamie no chance of reaching put them 2-0 up, then it was just how many and a credit to Jamie for keeping the score down, we had some chances Lou Evans hit the bar and Che shot wide when put through.

I also attended the Hereford match, I think we were a little better than them in the first half. But no offense to Andy but i dont think he should of taken Craig Wilkins off and replace him with Aaron Barnett at half time as there was no need to as we were playing good. But as soon as Aaron Barnett came on the defence scrammbled the ball away they scored, then barnett gave it short to Jamie Turner which they scored. Then we started playing well but they deserved the final goal.

I think that Hereford where the better team for the majority of the game and deserved there victory. I also fell that we gave the ball away too cheaply in the second half expecially.

I have to feel sorry for Jamie Turner, as after an early mistake he was having a good game. But in the second half, when the crowd started getting on his back, his kicking was disasterous and you could see he had little or no confidence every time the ball came back to him. However dispight hi kicking frailties, his shot stopping was of a high standard, saving numerous times in the second half.

It was a shame the Che couldn't score when put through as that would have made it 2-1 and the last few minutes would have been a bit more interesting. All in all, a stroll in the park for Hereford.

Come on lads, lets put this run behind us and kick six bells out of Margate on Tuesday.

Some more feedback from the game. It was not a good defensive show at all. Questionnable defensive switch in the second half which lead to the second goal a minute after their first goal and that 2 minute period after half time killed thegame off. We looked good at times and awful at other times. Bentley was superb as usual and everyone else adequate.

On a plus note.

 

I thought Ben White showed promising signs.

He battled hard for 90 minutes, which at a time like this is what we need.

hhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm. I'l agree for arguments sake and it was his debut but he gave the ball away far too much for my liking. Although to be fair we never kept the ball that long anyway. Agree with Che's chance though, that could have changed the game. Anyway on to Margit on tuesday.

With Skinner now available let's hope that Mark Bentley goes back on the right side of midfield. Whilst he was one of our better players on Saturday he is nowhere near as effective on the left.

Agreed. And im now starting to see why we dont play Tostao from the start, not nearly as effective as when he comes on later. ps: thanks for the short cut through the welsh border Dave!!!! we followed you not realising it was a different way from the direction we had gone and hoped you was'nt going to friends in Manchester or something!!!! at least we think it was you.

I think Andy explained the reason in his manager's report, which was online last night.

I know. Barnett is a quality centre back and Wilko is a striker but when you see Wilks having a superb first half with tackles headers and assured looking you wonder why it needed a change on exactly the kick off to the second half?! But also in Andy's defence and im certainly not being out of order, how could a manager predict what was about to happen and the mare barnett was about to have!

 

All in all a game to forget and move on with the 6 pointers now!!

Good point! I do belive you had yours on as well though!!! We were all contemplating the problems which could occur if you had pulled in to a relatives in a dark welsh hill somewhere. A calculated gamble you could call it! Bateo managed to work out that you had said you were driving and we hoped you meant both ways!! mind you there were enough b and b's for an army!!

Agree with most of the posts already made, cannot understand why Craig was taken off, yes he had a yellow card, but was playing really well at the back.

Like Dave I also hope that Mark bentley comes back to his propoer place in the team, he has such quality, but sadly wasted over the last two games.

We were beaten by a better organised and high flying side, Quite agree with the bit about warming up for a few minutes after the first half, they looked ready to score and once again we looked ready to concede.

 

The Ref was not responsible for us losing, we were , but once again he only seemed to see Red shirts not White when it came to dishing out cards.

 

 

Though the new lad looked OK, but gave the ball away especially in the second half, but in his defence he must have wondered what had happended to the team in the 2nd half we lost our shape, and once again squandered the only real chance we had.

 

As Andy has said its going to be tough, if you are not ready for a fight, then say so , and leave it those who are.

 

Keep those pledges coming in. we certainly need them. ( No money received since last home game)
