Pitch battle...........................

... and that is what DF and EA had to contend themselves with yesterday.

DF was at the ground at 8.00am followed a little later by EA. It took them the best part of 5 hours to get the pitch ready for yesterday's game and thank goodness the weather wasn't that bad.

23 December - Home game at 3.00pm

26 December - Home game at 12.00noon

Let's just hope that the pitch does not need any major work done on it in between the games otherwise these two guys will be there on Christmas Day or at first light on Boxing Day! I just hope not.

All credit to Roy, and we all wish him well, but there must be a better option/solution than to expect a couple of supporters to give up their time to prepare the pitch before every game on the main pitch! Oh, and then steward and pack away afterwards!

Well pointed out Andy.

It is hard for the "supporters" who are not Committee people, to understand just how much work goes into a match day.

As you say Roy has done a fantastic job for many years, but he ain't going to be doing it now, due to his poor health.

The Club have got no choice but to put together a Ground Committee to deal with these things.

It ain't a Safety Officer's job to do the pitch.

Well done to all those that do / can help, but there ain't that many. I do not see this being any different in 95% of our League Clubs.

Let's hope the weather is okay over the Christmas period.

He definately won't be there on Christmas day Andy, but we have got to be there at "first light" on Boxing Day as it's a 12.00 noon kick off. Our Jess is not best pleased!!!!!!!

We were lucky that the rain held off yesterday. I went down to support Enfield Town Ladies FC this afternoon but their WFA Cup game was off due to the waterlogged pitch.

Game is now Next Sunday and if it goes to penalties I will struggle to get to see you later!!

Well he's helping everybody else out on the night of the 24th and the morning of the 25th so he may as well keep his coat on!
