I have a great respect for any team that is put in the position, that we have been over the past few seasons. Although I support the same team it does not mean that I have the same opinion of others.

After our visit to Harlow a few weeks ago, I felt that a good team would get a result, as we let that opportunity pass.

My early post was honest and genuine, unlike others.

Non league football is a small world and some should remember that, 15 games is no time to comment on a full season.

Back to the game, thought we showed a great deal of spirit today. Harlow were possibly the better side but didn't take their chances and we did.

 

Great goals from Curran and Edgar and super performances from Ricky and Jon Stuart who was my man of the match.

 

Support was superb today. Didn't stop singing the entire game and my voice has suffered badly as a result!!!

 

Look forward to Tuesday game against Brentwood now.

What a great result <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bounce.gif" alt="" /> rode our luck at times with Ricky having to make 2 excellent saves (especially the 1 in the 2nd half) but we defended well and hit them with the killer 2nd goal.

 

I was very concerned when i saw Kreyling was out but John Stuart had a great game and for me was motm. Edgar seems to get more like his old self with each game he plays and his goal (thanks to Rugg) was one of the best we`ve scored this season.

 

Another good goal from Curran who is proving a real handful for defenders but i wish he would stop picking up silly bookings.

 

I was very impressed with Harlow`s ground (no Sky is not the end of the world) and the pitch was one of the best i`ve seen this season which suited us nicely. When they come down to Park Lane maybe we can arrange for all the

to be tested at 3 o`clock?

....personally I think segration is a good thing in these circumstances, makes for a better atmosphere and is safer - wheres the issue ? And why the speculation that attendances will suffer.

as for segregation LOS...I do not feel it is appropriate that ryman one clubs are segregated but that is just my opinion and of course the club must do what they feel appropriate...history of course related to urchins/canvey matches does not back up the need for segregation...

The thing is that anyone with knowledge of the two teams, their supporters and the ability to read someone through what they say can tell that Canvey ARE a good team on the up, catching up with their rival team and that one of the 'regularly heard' supporters is using comments to big up their side because a slight nervousness has set in regarding the change in league standings.

 

A bit like Mourinho with Ferguson lately.

 

I'm sure UU will not agree (another example of what i have explained above!), but for anyone with a bit of sense, it will be abundently clear!

 

As for my team, i will speak honestly and not for the benefits of maintaining some sort of false bravado and say that with video evidence now on MySpace, Canvey are a very good team in this division and although Hornchurch are top and look good too, it is way to early to say that we are not capable of catching them and who knows, maybe overtaking them. Of course, Hornchurch are looking very good too and have a lead but whos to say that a mid season slump wont happen to them like it can do to many teams in a healthy position.

 

But we will see. It isn't even half way through the season and so far, i am very confident of Canvey being right next to Hornchurch in the coming months.

 

This should be a great year to be a Canvey fan and player and much deserved after last summers betrayal!
