The point is: it will raise huge publicity for the club. Not only will it get the local paper (and people) interested, but it is bound to cause further media interest. After all, his 1,000th game is bound to appeal to, for example, national newspapers, at the minimum.

Doubt it Michael.Trotty is taking this league thing seriously & this would just be a little messing around to him I would have thought,a disruption to his plans & concentration for the one target he has left to conquer. Couldnt see him tolerating such a distraction somehow,no matter who it was who was wanting the one game.
