THE SPARTAN PREM - A non-Rhodes Post

Recommended Posts

Not really too much I can add other then nice to see that even Hertford agree that WE are the team to beat <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I said it before a ball was kicked and I stand by it still, ourseleves, Hertford and Harefield, I expect Leverstock to fall away (could be wrong) and if I was pushed to name a top three it would be

Edgware <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Hertford

Harefield

Leversotck ok thats a top 4 <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I would go as far as saying that if you finish above Edgware you will win the league!

Would have to say that Edgware and Hertford will be the top 2. Harefield have been there or thereabouts in the last couple of seasons. Broxbourne always seem to be strong when they play us but drop points in matches that look easy on paper. Levy seem a bit of a surprise package and would be disappointed to drop out of the top 3 after such a good start. Only 6 points separate 5th & 16th so there always a chance of a late run out of the pack.

Who do you think is most likely to sring from the pack, tringarmy? I think Oxhey could make a run of it if they invest some of their cup winnings on improving the squad. They already have the advantage of a pitch that nobody else wants to play on.

By the way, everyone, should we have a new forum rule - every new thread must include the words "a non-Rhodes post"?

Oxhey could improve however they are like a number of teams at this level you have to be a brother, sister, cousin, nephew, niece, uncle, father of someones or whatever to get in their squad.

They keep it very much in house and dont really let outsiders in which is a shame. One example I know of was a friend played for hanwell and north greenford utd didnt get a chance not even a look

in.

I think Edgware, Hertford, Harefield are the big boys and will fight it out, think Edgware and Harefield might make a bit more experience and physical presence

Aylesbury Vale could get involved later in the day, they have been near the top the last few years but never pushed on to challenge so let's see what happens

agreed that harefield have it in them to really put a push on for the title

Tomorrow's game with us is huge for them, a win for us could virtually end their title hopes, even at this early stage!

So why have they gone on such a poor run of form. They have lost 4 game so far. I still expect them to finnish top three, but there must be a reason they form is so poor after such a good start, and I dont put it down to any injures/ suspensions, I really think that the result at our place being changed and them having to play the game again as hit them, and I am sure tomrorrow fireworks will go off on the pitch.

Bad blood has been boiling over for two games now, and I expect firworks, light the blue touch paper and stand well back!!!!!!

Thats true, we have had ours, a draw at oxhey in between 14 wins <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

No, I agree, but with us not dropping points and Hertford and Leverstock close on our heels, Harefield cant afford to lose to many more points. Thats is why the game for them is huge, for us as well, if we can win, we can serioulsy dent any hopes they still hold of winning the league.

The team that keeps a clear head will win tomorrow, as I expect to it get very 'tasty' out there.
