This is a fairly accurate account of what happened and why Saf got the wrong end of the stick. Following Horace's amusing post I sent it by e-mail to a number of people and copied Saf in without explaining properly that it was a wind up, and a good one at that.

You've always got an excuse. You could easily cut and paste the relevant bit, and exclude the "Club information of a sensitive nature" (but not sensitive enough to prevent you emailing it to everyone!)

In the absence of any evidence to the contrary, the forum members will certainly believe that you were taken in by it and actually circulated it in your excitement.

It was a poor fake, and a quick look at the address bar showed that it didn't come from the Sunderland website. I never imagined that anyone would be fooled by it -it was just a joke.
