esl rule:hullbridge sports fc - aveley fc 3-2

hullbridge sports pulled off a great win against high flying aveley,third

in the ryman div 1 north.against a strong aveley line-up,the esl team with

a very young side,including 8 u'18s players,recorded an excellent win with

goals from neil hughes on 21th minute and from strikers aroon

gosling(58th)and chay spreadborough on 65th.Aveley were 2-1 up at half

time with goals from sam adejokun on 18th and julian edwards on 36th,but

the hullbridge lads played a great second half and fought back winning the

game against a more illustrious team that included numerous players like

former grays midfielder richard halle and daniel francis,with ryman

premier experience.aveley line up-1 ashley harris 2craig branam 3 lawrence

yiga 4 ashley grant 5 nick skelton 6 bobby port 7 daniel francis 8 martin

tuony 9 julian edwards 10 richard halle 11 sam adejokun 12 peter curtin

the aveley players tried to cause as much damage as they could to it, but is still holding up well.only one game sunday(u'18s) and the 9th(league) so he should be ok.

Coach only about 4 players in there team played against us in the league 3 weeks ago.

8 out of the starting 11 are first team regulars(lawrence yiga,branham,skelton,d.francis,tuohy,edwards,halle,adejokun and the keeper is their number2.and you know what?we had 6 first team regulars out and 8 u'18's so chopper <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/attentat.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

to be fair to hullbridge whether the players are in the starting XI regular or not they are still players looking to be in a ryman 1 side and the manager obviously believes they are as they would not be playing otherwise.

 

we took harlow to penalties a few weeks ago and they had a strong side out.

 

i think you will find the teams in the top half of the ESL can compete with ryman opposition on their day. the difference is ryman teams have to maintain the performance week in week out and i doubt an ESL side could.
