NeutralFan - Good point, many thanks, I'll pass it on to the Manager and Coach, namely the Great Clement Temile who wasn't overly keen in the first place for the reasons you state however it is all we have on the table at present.

I can hear your mind ticking away on that reply, Rhodes - backing yourself out of a corner as you type!

Horace - What's there to reply to or get out of, Safraz confirms we should be able to play football at both Old Trafford or a ground like Brache Sparta and we generally do but it's also about the tacticts used against us where teams are becoming wise to our Brazil '70 style of play and, in my opinion, are purposely cutting up their pitches before play to get an advantage.

You really will tie yourself up in knots, Rhodes. I was talking about realising as you typed that you were opening yourself up to an attack about The Great One, so you got your defence in first.

Your reply is about something else. Another libellous statement that other clubs deliberately damage their pitches before they play you ! Fortunately for you, it's so ridiculous that no-one would take it seriously!

We reach a landmark, folks! The 50th November nomination for Quote of the Month!

Stony Stratford Town
Cranfield Athletic
Ampthill Town
Brimsdown Rovers
Harpenden Town
Brache Sparta
Cockfosters
Arlesey Athletic (surely not - the Arlesey Town groundsman would kill them!)

Come on Rhodes, name names - who deliberately cut up the pitch "before play" ?

Sorry Saf, but forgive me for not getting his humour. It read to me like "and, in my opinion, are purposely cutting up their pitches before play to get an advantage." Don't see any ambiguity in that!

Saf - You weren't at our game there on the 4 November as it was just before you joined us however to describe it as a cow patch is being kind and I'm sure they actually paid local yobos and vandals to cut it up during the night to prevent us playing on it in our normal Brazil '70 style. Unsurprisingly they beat us 3-0 as we had Daryl, Aaron and Daniel all missing and it was impossible for Lee to even control the ball.

Shall we start a sweepstake on how long it takes before someone brings a libel action against Rhodes? He seems to be determined to bring it upon himself!

Well 'Sugar' has already threatened me with one and I said I'll see him in Court, I'm still waiting for the summons and have a feeling that I'll be old and grey before it turns up.

Your statement is plural. You've named and shamed Brache Sparta. Who else?

Have been to both Cockfosters and Brinmsdown recently (since Kentish Town have played there) and both pitches were okay so it won't be them. At least two of the remaining five clubs have people who read this forum even though they don't necessarily post here so it will be interesting to see which name(s) Rhodes comes up with. Must be like walking through a minefield for him!

Potters Bar Town - No minefields involved and I just wish that more SSML Club's would get involved in the Forum rather than cowardly hiding behind their computer screens. The other Club's I was referring to are Harpenden Town and Whitewebbs on Saturday, we actually scraped a 2-1 win at Harpenden and I still don't know how we managed it on a very uneven surface to put it mildly.

I cannot comment on Brache Sparta as I've not had the pleasure of visiting them, but I have been to Harpenden. The playing surface is poor, but how can you say that they deliberately made it worse to frustrate your style of play?

Harpendons pitch has always been poor, they deliberately cut up the penalty spots a couple of seasons ago causing me to miss 2 penalties in one game...
