this is a question to a lot of managers and coaches that during their management days have come across some players who's close relatives were important club officials.how did you react to a situation like that and the fact that the player's dad, uncle etc was an important committee member, has really influenced your choices?share your views...discuss,discuss

Mate to me it doesnt matter who the players of the squad are related to,everyone is equal, football is all about opinions and if the manager of a club wont pick a player because he in the managers opinion isnt good enough to start or even make the squad then so be it,if a certain player within a squad is related to a committee member then surely the player concerned would want to be in the squad on merit, not picked just because he has a member of his family on the clubs committee, thats my personal opinion.

It isn't difficult really, at the end of the day if they r a good player, they should play, if not, well they don't! I know it isn't as easy as that because some people feel that their 'right' as chairman/commitee gives them certain leverage, but all i can say is that it shouldn't be like that.

We had no problems at our club, in fact if anything the player involved had to work harder to prove himself, which i may just point out he did extremly well!

it is indeed.my first year as a coach-manager,i had this boy who's father was the club's main financial backer.everytime i was leaving his son out of the starting line up,he used to go and sit in the stands to the amazement of everyone.the funny thing was,the player understood he had to fight for his place and never moaned about it!in the end he won his place but his dad still had the hump with me!he went to the chairman who knew me since i was in my nappies and asked for my head..the reply was:how can i sack a manager that has won every single game?if your son is not playing,it is down to the manager. we won the league at the end of the season but i realised i couldn't work with someone waiting for you to fall and accepted an offer from another club.last game of the season, all the players came out of the changing rooms, with a big long banner "enrico stay with us".that was my first managerial experience and one from whom i learned a great deal and to stick to my principles, don't matter what!luckily all the players i came across in the following years were all good enough to play, irrespective of being the vice- chairman'son!
