at the article in today's Daily Mirror on The Streets by one of them 3am girls:

 

So The Streets is the king of the UK music scene after scooping four niminations for The Brit Awards

 

Well, I'm going to do the unthinkable and put my hand up and say I think the rapper Mike Skinner is over-rated, depressing (has she not heard the track Stay Positive?-Chubb) and totally talentless. (oh dear!-Chubb)

 

It's the classic case of the emperor's new clothes. Or in this case the emperor's new shell suit (stereotype, anyone?-Chubb). The kids who hang out at the local youth club on my road can rap better. And at least have a sense of humour.(Once again displaying the qbvious fact that she hasn't listened to the album!-Chubb)

 

Music critics have dubbed the Birmingham lad a UK garage poet. Oh please!

 

Mikey boy made his debut album in his bedroom in Brixton with stolen equipment and raps about 21st Century street culture and cutting edge topics such as smoking weed, geezers, his local cafe and being on the dole.

 

How controversial of him. Whoever dubbed him the English Eminem needs to have their ears syringed.

 

The only thing they have in common is that they're both skinny, pale boys with concave chests. At least Eminem has a sense of humour in his videos and pokes fun at other music stars.

 

Even Skinner's name-The Streets-is a load of pretentious drivel.Oh how tough and hard you are.Not.

 

Mike may be a spokesman for a generation whise life revolves around cheap booze, drugs, and crime, but as far as I'm concerned music is about escapism, glamour and something you can dance to(what about creativity, being innovitive and expressing yourself,eh?-Chubb). Or listening to someone whose voice doesn't drone on and on tunelessly.

 

Harry Enfield's comic creation Kevin the Teenager can rap better than Skinner.

 

Why can't he just cheer up? The miserable sod is threatening not to show up to The Brits ceremony on Feb 20 as it isn't his type of scene.

 

How ungrateful can you get? It's not as if he's expected to do more than get drunk,jeer at his conteporaries and grunt into the microphone when he wins an award.Not exactly difficult.

 

I'd much rather see Ms Dynamite walking off with an armful of gongs.She,too, has 4 nominations and beat The Streets to the Mercury Music Prize last year.

 

And at least the Londoner-who has firm anti-drugs views (BORING!!-Chubb)-is gracious enough to show uo to awards ceremonies.

 

 

I'm sorry but what a load of old rubbish that is! The Streets music is innovative,stylish,well-produced,expressive,creative etcetc. It speaks to a generation (my generation) and is everything this journalist says it isn't.

Well this from a girl (not you chubbhead) who spends all days licking the arses of Cat D celebs and ligging at any possible oppurtunity. Who spends so long in celeb parties being laughed at that you wonder if they have any stance on reality.

 

Even though I don't live in the "ghetto" I can relate to what the streets say which is why they are so important. Enjoy your champers girls, the reason Mickee won't go to the brits is because it's full of hangers-on like yourselves.

 

I like Miss dynamite but the lyric Miss Dymanit -ee isn't exactly profund is it.

 

Mike from the Streets will just ignore this article and quite frankly I think we all should.

That, obviously, is what makes music cool and good these days.

That's the key, Zeal. In order to become a big hit you need to take the piss out of other music stars, such as Blur, Oasis, and Christina Aguilera. Can you do that?

Neither do I. Its great to have some original music around, rather thasn just more Travis\Stereophonics\ColdPlay\StarSailor bland ballad music.

 

Don't get me wrong I don't mind these bands but there are becoming a few too many of them, and all the albums just seem to merge together in my memory. Whereas the Streets music really stands out as being new. (And nothing like East 17).

Not me CZ, don't you think that if I wanted to insult you from a alias I too would of chosen a better one that one I had a few months ago. Also I'm more than happy to insult you with you knowing it's me. It's more fun!

 

I'm not posting anything on here until my old loggin is re-activated, I'm not starting from scratch again and that picture is a little sick. To be honest I could be doing better things with my time anyway.

 

You going to Billeriacay tomorrow?
