The new Kentish Town thread

Recommended Posts

Started a new thread as the old one was getting too long.

Was over at the Cockfosters youth match this evening. They were having a good old chuckle at the match report of their game against Kentish Town, especially the bit about treating the game like a cup final. Apparently, they played no differently to any other match and were surprised at how poor Kentish Town were given their league position at that time.

Strangely enough I toned down the report, I was going to put World Cup, Champions League and FA Cup Final all rolled into one as they were at our throats from the word go Wimbledon v Liverpool 1988 style, and one guy even did a Vinny Jones on Steve McMahon like tackle in the first ten seconds, I'm sure Cockfosters all sat round cosily at Chalk Lane watching that video in the week proceeding the game.

Potters Bar Town - I would be interested to know who gave you the authority to initiate a new thread when one, originated by myself, already existed, did you get Ian's permission to do this as you certainly didn't ask mine. If you did not consult with Ian I may be forced to take the matter further as it is simply not on, when you say that the original thread had become too long that is not for you to decide and could easily be construed as sour grapes on your part because you're jealous of our progressive Club which is currently receiving huge Worldwide publicity and recognition. The original Kentish Town thread has had to date 5,691 views in little over four months and that must be a record, this may have also been a factor for your actions and there is nothing in the 'rule book' as far as I'm aware to say how long a thread should be. I look forward to receiving your explanation, I will cc this post to Ian in a PM for his information.

Folks - How come none of you have as yet touched on our fine 2-0 win over a very strong and physical Sun Postal Sports side last night to get back to winning ways in no uncertain terms. Shaka Cole and Daniel Young were the scorers on an excellent playing surface and we were therefore able to revert back to our total football style of play which was not in evidence recently at Winslow United or Harpenden Town, in addition Lee Scott was still absent however we barely missed him other than the fact that it would have probably been 4 or 5-0 had he played.

I've just dismissed it as a freak result and, in any case, it didn't count for the Prediction League hence the fact that nobody was really interested. That, plus the fact that Kentish Town are now officially non-runners in the promotion stakes given that, on a points per game average, they are down in 7th place.

I still feel that we are very much in the promotion race, a number of teams in the running haven't had their blips yet where we have had two or three due to the Damien Thorn factor. Incidentally Jeff Barnes was at the game on Friday, were your ears burning, I'm sure he (and Dave Rae) mentioned to you yesterday that we are back with a bang, Horishima style.

I'm sure we can treat this opinion of yours as typical exageration.

Oh, and my only conversation with Dave Rae yesterday was about the banter on here. It's always good to lighten the mood in the build up to a game and there's no better way to do that than to have a good old laugh at clip Rods.

We haven't announced where we are playing next season yet, all will be revealed soon and I think one or two eyebrows will be raised Mr Spock style.

"Promotion and Relegation between Premier Division and Division One

Promotion and relegation between the Premier Division and Division One may be applied to the bottom two teams in the Premier Division and the top two teams in Division One, subject to the facility standards, in accordance with Appendix 'A', being approved by the Board by 1 April each year."

You only have about 6 weeks left to announce it.

Six weeks is a lifetime in the beautiful game, you should know that.
