The new Clement Temile thread

Recommended Posts

Well why's that, I for one swear by the opening Ceremony and the looks on all the competitors faces following four long years of dedicated preparation say it all. For it to finally be happening in London, our home city, is the icing on the cake however you only see pound signs which is a crying shame.

half the competitors don't actually attend the opening ceremony because they are still in training camps. Many of them complain about the excessive time and all the waiting around it takes up too.

I just think that given it is all supposed to take place in five and a half years time and little has been finalised yet it has the makings of a disaster.

Folks - Surprise, surprise, I was contacted by The Times today, amongst other newspapers from overseas, who want to do an article on 'the great one':

Hello

I work for The Times and I'd like to contact Clement Temile to speak with him for an article I'm doing. His email address doesn't work, so I wonder if you would have a contact number, please?

thanks very much

Tom Dart

doesn't actually say the article is specifically about Clement Temile, it could be an article on a number of things

a) non league coaching

B) the SSML league

c) Toto Tammuz

d) bottle washing at Charlton

e) illegal immigrants in Israel

f) The state of Nigerian football

g) leaving young children in another country

h) Roy Keane

Perhaps he has purposely disabled it or given the wrong e-mail address, as I've said before he's not comfortable with publicity and adulation as he's such a modest, unassuming and down to earth guy, I feel a bit sorry for him as he just wants a quiet life and to Coach football at the end of the day. Now he is embroiled in this Toto story that is unlikely to go away and will get a hundred times worse if Israel do win on Saturday, I hope for his sake that England win convincingly and Toto has a stinker so it will all hopefully die a death.

I hope so too for all our sakes, but that can only happen if you stop talking about them on here all the time.

Without a doubt this is the most crass (or is that "crassest"?) thing you have ever posted! The ONLY person who has been thrusting Mr Temile's name into the media is YOU. You fed all the stories, and now you say that publicity embarrasses your hero.

YOU have been shouting his name from the rooftops (apart from when you said you were worried that someone bigger than Kentish Town might poach him if the knew where he was), apparently against his wishes as he "just wants a quiet life and to Coach football at the end of the day".

YOU (rhodes) are entirely to blame for any embarrassment or discomfort suffered by Mr Temile.

top post Horace. Surely rhodes idiotic post is a possible contender for a straight entry into quote of the year.

Horace - No not at all, it's common knowledge that 'the great one' is Toto's father, all these journalists I have been dealing with 24/7 recently aren't stupid people and can find Lord Lucan and Shergar if they really wanted to.

I've read rhodes's reply to Horaces original post four times and I don't understand it....am I missing something obvious here?

I think Rhodes secretly likes his quote of the month threads. If he didn't he wouldn't come out with such claptrap as this.

Lato - Well take the guy from the Times that contacted me yesterday, he approached me so that does not justify Horace's post whereby he states that I have been thrusting 'the great one's' name into the media spotlight, it's also common knowledge by now that Clement is Head Coach of Kentish Town Football Club so he's hardly difficult to track down. I gather the article in the Times will be on Friday by the way so don't forget to get your copy.

But YOU fed all this stuff in the first place by posting on forums like Bigsoccer.com etc! The "common knowledge" about Mr Temile being at Kentish Town is also because you have been banging on about him for over 6 months! It was YOU and only YOU to blame for the publicity he's received. But then you are never at fault are you? You'll never accept responsibility will you?
Of course the papers want to run the story - it's about Toto though, not Clement. Human interest stories are always the most sought after and you've set Clement up like an "Aunt Sally" to be knocked down over his "abandonment" of Toto. I hope you are proud of yourself? (rhetorical question - you are, aren't you?)

of course he's proud of it, it massages his over inflated ego. I know he denies that is the case but rhodes's conduct on this board would seem to suggest he craves attention.

Lato - I don't crave attention, just the opposite infact, look when I disappeared from view that week and helped to raise a tidy sum for the City Farm, I was never happier that week and got 101 things done. As for Horace's post I haven't set 'the great one' up like 'an Aunt Sally' as you put it, I've never heard anything so ridiculous, Clement is a former World superstar from his playing days and is still worshipped in his native Nigeria, as the Ghana v Nigeria friendly at Griffin Park proved, I don't need to bang on about him at all.
