Grays game moved for SKY TV

Gravesend & Northfleet's away Conference National game scheduled for New Year's Day 2007, has been moved back two days so that it can be screened by SKY TV.

 

The game is now scheduled for Wednesday January 3rd at 7.45.p.m.

I couldnt make new yaers day game due to family commitment but can now do the third.

 

However , yet again , part of the tradition of football has been taken away.

Whats all this about Tradition? We didn't play New Years day last year and it gives us more of a break after the Rushden game and doesn't close the gap up too much before the Halifax game. The team get more exposure... good for sponsors etc and I get to watch the New Years day parade. Oh very Gay. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bisou.gif" alt="" />

But we did play on the traditional New years day Bank holiday, like everyone else , and an afternoon KO time. Thats good enuff for me.

What I was trying to say , was that TV is gradually ruining the game.

 

In my opinion , the premiership is now unwatchable due to the number of games being moved due to Uefa and CL involvement.

 

Bank Holiday fixtures have for years been part of a holdays entertainment.

 

Traditions do die , and things do change (my dad used to go to Xmas day games) , but some things should remain unaltered. The New Years Day and Boxing day games are just two of them
