Please can someone confirm we do not still owe the above group £30,000 when they dug up remains under the pitch a couple of years ago.

 

My Council contact told me that the bill is outstanding.

I did wonder why we should pay anything to them anyway as;

1. If something is found on your own land and an historical group want to study it THEY should pay you.

2. As the land owned by the Council then the Council should pay NOT the club.

3. The fact that the group in question has four Councillors on their committee makes me doubt their intentions

4. If they find anything on the site should not be allowed to remove such items without your permission.

5. The Councillor who told me this also said that the group have to make money somehow (including skyhigh fees???)
