The lads werent at the races in the 1st half tonight - they conceded a goal after 6 minutes when the Wycombe right winger got round the back and pulled the ball back across the 6 yard box where the centre forward , Roy Boateng, stabbed home.

Much of the rest of the half was spent playing long balls and too easily conceding possession. DEspite that, the score remained 1-0 until 10 minutes before half time when a a punt upfield by Wycombe came off a Fleet players head straight to the Centre Forward who slotted past the keeper in a one on one.

6 minutes later it was 3 when a free kick was conceded 18 yards out on the Fleet right and the Wycombe forward was allowed a free header from 10 yards out.

The Fleet came out a different team in the 2nd half and did themselves much more justice. Indweed had they scored as they could easily have done 15 minutes into the half (a shot on the turn from the corner of the 6 yard box by (I think) Akinde, flying inches over the bar), it would have been game on. Although they kept plugging away thereafter, they couldnt quite get the goal that their second half endeavours deserved.

Right at the death Wycombe could even have scored a 4th, but the Fleet keeper mde 2 good saves in the final 5 minutes to keep the scoreline reasonable.

Wycombe were a big strong side and spread the play really well - their 2 wingers both looked good, in particular.

Fleet though can be proud of their 2nd half efforts, even if they will have been disappointed by their 1st half showing.

I thought the Fleet number 4 (Danny ?) was quite impressive and was the centre of much of Fleets second half improvement, although his distribution could still be improved. The defence generally looked more solid in the second half as well, once the team reverted to 4-3-3.

Overall a disappointing result, but still worth attending on what was a rather cold evening (Wycombe's stadium is decent too - take away the second tier on the far side of the ground, and its the type of ground I'd envisage us having).
