The one thing that really pigs me off, is when the ball has gone out of play and the decision is contentious.
The lino will wait for the referee to make up his mind and then raise his flag to agree. They seem afraid of making decisions for themselves.

First off, if it is contentious then the referee will 9 times out of 10 make his own decision, unless it is right in front of the assistant, second of all could you imagine in front of Eddie that the assistant and the referee went against eachother, there would be serious hell to pay for the poor assistant for the rest of the half, in front of the benches with Eddie in your ear? No thanks.

And yes Jenko you can be booked without swearing, if the referee deems it dissent by word or action then he will caution a player, different referees have different tolerance levels. I would just like to say that the two "C" words, cheat and cnnt are the worst things that you could say to a referee and will almost always end in a dismissal, so if one of your players on Saturday used questionable words when addressing the referee it is more than likely that he would take exception. I've also heard that Mr Chester was going on for quite a bit before the ref sent him away.

the whole ref thing is so boring. everyone having a pop at them week in week out. lets just leave them alone. yes they are frustrating at times but having a pop at them will only make things worse.

lets change the record lads.

I see what you mean Rooney but you are an honest linesman and you can have a laugh. The players who got booked for dissent didn't say anything bad thats my point. Asking the ref an honest question like why someone got booked is not worth a yellow card. Chester got sent off but he wasn't abusive until afterwards! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
