TBG I agree about getting used to bad refs. This season has been the worse so far. Maybe that something to do with new rules, I don't know.

But my point is, if a ref is bad fair enough you can't do anything about it but what I witnessed on Saturday was nothing short of cheating. I'm not making excuses because we deserved to lose. But that doesn't excuse a ref being a disgrace to the profession and blantly favouring one side over the other.

krooner do you ever go home and analyse your own game as a ref? and do you try to see things as a footballer or as a ref?

I try to but I find it difficult to self analyse. I find a better way is to talk to the coaches and find out their views. In amongst some of the twaddle they talk is some really good stuff.

i bet there are some referees that wonder how some managers get to manage sides, swings and roundabouts!!

how funny is that?you go through a mickey mouse course and then they throw you in the fray, without a lot of mentoring.you make mistakes and keep refereeing, even getting a promotion.. managers make mistakes and get the sack!it works only one way... for the useless [****!!****] that turn up on our grounds

they get the sack because of poor form and the people running the clubs can't afford poor form,if you sacked referees for having bad games you would have about 100 referees left for the whole of football league & non league in this country.

you cannot sack the [****!!****] but you can make them referee mini-soccer games! that's about right

That is because there are loads of people wanting to manage sides. There are not loads of people wanting to referee though. Before you get on your battle stallion Coach that is not a dig or defending anyone it is just the facts.

I see where you are coming from Kroons. Its getting to the stage where becoming a ref is the worse thing in the World except becoming a copper!

As I said most refs are pretty honest and make genuine mistakes and as long as you can chat to them before, during and after then there shouldn't be to many problems.

However on Saturday the ref seemed competent but then became a little 'Hitler' just blantly cheated as did the lino. I found out something the other night as well. We sometimes feel at the Manor that we are pre-judged. But on Saturday we didn't know the ref or one of the linesmen. However I'm sure I knew the other one. Low and behold he referred our game against Barking where he was very bias and we gave him a bit of abuse. Maybe he relayed this to the ref on Saturday which is why he was so against us. A Manor player also told me that a Halstead player apologised to him saying that winning a game that is being refereed so one sided is not that good.

I make genuine mistakes all the time. Did a game last night and the home side were not too happy with me. To be fair their players didn't complain it was just their bench. They lost 3-2 and most of the grief was over a penalty I gave and 2 I didn't. Not one of the home coaching staff came up to shake my hand or speak to me after the game in the bar. Next time I have them I can hear the groans already coming from their bench. Like I say it is a two way thing.

"Like I say it is a two way thing"

like i said it's not a two way thing...the manager you gave a penalty against or didn't give 2 penalties has been sacked last night for losing 3-2 you'll still go out this week-end,inevitably make mistakes and get paid for it!who's the winner?your lot 100%

Krooner these things happen and even if it annoys you a genuine mistake is a genuine mistake. Bad refs are just bad refs and it is hard to change that. If the refs make a genuine mistake but you know that ref and get on with them then you accept it as an honest mistake. But what alot of people feel very aggrieved by is when refs are obviously bias towrads the home side. Even that doesn't bother me as much as what happened Saturday. In all honesty if people on this forum were there they would see what I am saying is true and that is that the ref on saturday and the lino cheated.
