Because in their wisdom the league bigwigs have decreed that both dugouts need to be equi-distant from the half-way line.

A pathetic rule in my view that only causes considerable expense of the type that few clubs at this level can really afford.

It catches up with you in the end though Rick. For the last few weeks, Jeff Minton has had to bang in his penalties from the full 12 yards!
