Yes, worry about our i's and t's. What would be the sanction for an illegal approach, a fine I'm guessing?

Whereas if Hakim has been playing as a non-registered player and therefore 'illegible' I understand that the sanction would be the docking of all points gained whilst he was playing which I would presume all of them bar yesterdays 3?

Wouldn't that be priceless, an approach from Weymouth for a Stalebun uncovering such a situation.............priceless!

And probably Chapter one of 'Floodlight Failure

Weymouth are suggesting we didnt even have clearence for Haks to play so therefore we lose all of our points where he has played in <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

If he hasn't been registered with the FA then someone at your club needs a severe talking to. Let's face it, it's not the first time this has happened.

However, if for the past three months you've been fielding an illegible player than why has the FA not picked up on this?

Sorry to be harsh, but you're not a tin pot club in a Sunday pub league.

The FA have no reason to pick it up, there are 1000's of players registered at various clubs they can't check every one, can they?

They would only act if info came to light or a complaint was made, remember last season when Weymouth fielded an illegable player in September, it didn't come to light until virtually the end of the season when, ironically, we made a complaint!

Hakim has had 4 bookings. Surely when players are booked they would check to see if that player was registered with the club.

When I played Sunday League footie and a ringer was booked, they would always have to pretend to be one of the registered players as otherwise the referees report would show that an unregistered player was turning out for the team.

Err... I think the point here is that he IS a registered player but he MAY NOT have a legit contract because the FA have no record. So he is not an illegible payer. A player can be registered without being on a contract tying him to the club.

So the question will be why is he not on contract when quite clearly the club (and Manager it seems) thought he was

The club need to issue a statement PDQ !

I suspect that a lot that is going around at the moment is pure conjecture, rumour and sh*t stirring ! - The "official" view needs to be known as soon as possible.

If there is any truth - how come Weymuff seem to know more about our player's contract than we do ?

Conspiracy or incompetance - we need to know, something smells bad no matter how you look at it.

Come on guys it's 'ineligible'. Your 'Illegible' players were the ones with gaffa tape over the back of the shirts.

CiG - I liked your prediction for the title of the next book...'Floodlight Failure! That is Priceless!

The way i understand it is that it's all about the contract and not the registration. Correct me i'm wrong anyone but wouldn't Hakim's registration have carried over from when we first signed him. Surely a player is still registered from when they first joined the club and is cancelled when they leave and isn't automatically stopped because it's close season.

I see the Weymouth fans are having fun on their forum by burying their heads in the sand again. They seem convinced we are in trouble with the F.A.

Surely if the FA fine Weymouth then it will because they have been found guilty of breaching some regulation or other. So surely in that event they will be forced to pay the "asking price" whatever that is in addition to whatever sanction they face. Only then will City be obliged to release his registration. Lots of "surely"s in there and of course this is the FA so nothing is certain!
