Yesterday the boys were 'immense', no-one put a foot wrong. Rickets, Long and Sodje stood out for me and how many games is that this season that we haven't had to make a sub? It appears that 3-5-2 is our best formation although I still think 4-4-2 is better for the long term.

 

We still have De Bolla to come back while Coleman, Purcell and Anderson have impressed when they have been available. When will we manage to fit them all in?

Not to mention that Quinn was out, and Daish doesn't seem to like tinkering with a winning team, so Ricketts may find himself in the holding role after yesterday's game.

Definitly. I think Quinn has come in for a lot of stick, some fair some unfair, but you can't fault Mark 'Makalele' Ricketts in the holding role. Based on yesterdays performance Ricketts should keep his place and so should the other ten.

Ricketts has hardly put a foot wrong all season and he played superbly in the holding role yesterday.

The only one who seems "out of his depth"and not interested,in the few times he's played is Danny Ekoku,but as LD doesn't usualy make mistakes perhaps he's one for the future.

Best I have seen from Ricketts since he has been with us.

 

McCarthy was immense towards the end as well.

I hope McCarthy's form this season is enough to convince his critics who could only ever cite his lack of pace as reason he was supposed to be 'crap'.

 

Funny that we only ever look solid when he's playing this season.

It was superb on Saturday and I think the midfield we had in place showed how much better than having the "one paced" Quin involved.

 

The boys were all action and totally got in the faces of the Oxford midfield

No-one has mentioned it, but I also thought the central defenders were awesome all game.

Most scholars take this to refer to the Russian navy but we know better.

Yeah, hang on RR... last time you had a good word we embarked on a three-game run in which we didn't score, and played the worst game in ages at Chelmsford.
