Yesterday's attendance

Recommended Posts

First you say 600,then 1,000 for the Stonebridge Road stand ? It comes across that when the arithmatic didn't fit your implied conspiracy theory you had to almost double your first estimate to keep it afloat! I got the impression from the kick off that the overall attendance was well below 2,500. Perhaps the attendance was lower than hoped for, but at least the home support outnumbered the visitors by some margin. The pre-match hype indicated that it would be a close run thing.

Johnny Jarvis retired last year and he cried at the final assembly, legend! Shorrucks, one of the other teachers who's been here for 30+ years, still dribbles like a bloodhound and proudly runs the biology dept. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

J Jarvis had a Welsh middle name - Llewelyn. Still came from Essex though! Oh, by the way, he was a teacher of German.

PS. I note that you haven't responded to my previous post CG!

Never thought there was a conspiricy at work - just putting my view (and most others who were there) that the announced gate appeared somewhat smaller than the actual figure.
As the club isn't into the massaging of figures for under the counter profit, I'll have to settle for the figure of 2019 as being correct.
I still believe there were more there - just as the Canvey gate.

Crikey , when I saw Kenny in 1973, I thought he was a 6th former!!

Rumour had it that Kenny got detention on his first day for going in the staffroom without permission.
I took my boy to look round the school a couple of years ago and Kenny was, unsurprisingly, the only teacher still there from my days and it looked like he still doesn't need to shave.

KShep if you want a real legend you should have seen Cod Walker.
