Dominic took almost 15% of the vote...a very good votes take considering :

 

Both Labour and Conservatives spent almost one month canvassing and door knocking ...In fact the Conservatives bussed in members from wokingham and Reading to help with the elections...

 

This area was Conservative before the Langley Independants took control in the pass few years..and was a tory strong hold..in the past..

 

so even Labours vote was good considering...

 

So the area was a difficult area to campaign in ...for a slough Town Supporter...

 

This proves that the four STST members that did the leaflet drop over a 3 day period ..pulled in 107 votes without to much work..so think what we could do we some help ??

 

Next May will be a great time for all our supporters to really make a difference and help the STST board to really go hammer and tongs in a election that I am sure we could make in roads to...

 

Well done to Dominic for standing ...a good result considering the turn out of less than 30%

 

and thanks to those in St marys ward who voted for Dominic...

 

PLAYING DIRTY !!!

 

I have also to report the coalition group IE The mayor and a few of the independants at the last minute backed the tory candidate on their election flier..therefore supporting the tories ! how can this be when they are surposse to be independants..we will see when the tories at the next election push to get their seats..what fools...short sighted and silly !

 

Also at the polling station a tory boy was caught and filmed by labour people , posing as a Slough Town Supporter claiming and shouting and abusing and harrassing voters stating that the labour party were the ones not listerning to the crys of foul play from the Slough Supporters ! This same tory boy was caught and asked why he was impursinating a slough supporters at the polling station ?? he said he was having fun !!! to make matters worse he claimed to be a windsor supporter !!! [****!!****] !!!! so they really do play dirty.... we must be prepared to do the same at the next election...

 

I personally ask why the conservatives had not supported any motions for the re instatment of the football club back into slough ? she replied because we were standing against them ??? To my reply is because thats exactly why we were putting up candidates !! Thick or what !!!

 

All it would take for us to not stand in the elections if the elected cllrs would take our plight seriously ! and start to work with us instead of against us ...and look into real ways to get us home !!

 

They are clearly not interested ! well at their peril I say...

canvassing is not permitted in the polling stations.the neutral polling station officer should have ejected that person with police help if required under the circumstances, possible duress/harassment of voters is the result legal?

Good effort Dom and everybody who was involved with the campaign. Sadly with my house move dominating my life last weekend and the fact I've been poorly (diagnosed today as tonsilitis) meant I wasn't able to be any help.

I must say I am hardly surprised to hear that some councillors are not interested when you consider that we are standing against them.

Chris you are turning into a politcian - Dominic took 6.71% of the vote.

 

He did achieve nearly 15% of the conservatives votes.

 

Or 2.01% of all those eligable to vote in the ward.

 

Well done for flying the Slough Town flag Dom - got to let them know we are still here.

As someone who helped stand candidates all over Slough for the Greens that was a good result, especially in a ward like Langley St Marys.

Targetted leafletting a good press campaign and a bit of canvessing in selected wards in May could prove interesting.

Cheers Staines, and to all who helped! I was aiming to get over 100, it looked shaky for a while but we got there.
