Recommended Posts

Looks like I'll be at the Hendon v Slough game. Sorry as I was looking forward to meeting you AWK. MB100 and maybe Spider will be there representing Manor though.

Now who would be horrible to you Spider??

Now I'm sure you've spotted it, but there are little clues in my and AWKs profiles which mean I have to be a wee bit careful when travelling in darkest Bedfordshire.

Yes, you know the sort of thing, Lato:

1st minute - carried water bottles to dugout.
5th minute - sitting on bench.
30th minute - brief warm up (blown over by sudden gust of wind).
44th minute - sitting on bench.
45th minute - carried water bottles to changing rooms.
46th minute - carried water bottles to dugout.
60th minute - sitting on bench.
70th minute - brief warm up.
80th minute - more strenuous warm up.
85th minute - came on.
86th minute - tackled by opponent, fell over.
87th minute - almost tackled by opponent, fell over.
88th minute - opponent came within three yards, fell over.
89th minute - caught a divot, fell over.
90th minute - heavily tackled by opponent, cautioned for diving.

I think that the sort of account he's looking for.

I should be there as well AWK, as long as you promise to be nice to me.

Glad to hear it Spidermanor, Luton are at home that day so I don't know how much of the match I'll get to see but hopefully I'll bump into yourself and MB100 while I'm down there.

AWK - Will you be posting a report on the game in due course as I will be interested to read it, I assume Lato will too seeing that he was pouring Czech beer down his neck at the time. Did you take any pics by the way.

Not unless they serve Czech beer in Hendon's clubhhouse (no). A taxi between Hendon and Barnet (no) or on the terrace at Underhill (no)..once again you prove yourselve to be a fool rhodes.

The only way AWK will be posting a report is if he watched the game with binoculars from the stands at Kenelworth Road. Since he went to watch [****!!****] Town.

It was a fairly dour cup tie on a difficult and heavy surface. Manor probably shaded it and created the clearer opportunities, but The 61 were never out of the game and their keeper had an excellent game. He made an absolutely top draw save from his own centre half in the first half, only to be beaten twice by the Sway in the last couple of minutes.

I did take some photos and will post them later. Full match report is on our website

Indeed I was at the Luton Town match, but here is the report from the Beds on Sunday (see if you can spot their mistake):

Two goals in the dying minutes saw 61 slip out of the Bedfordshire Senior Trophy after a stubborn performance against Premier Division opponent.

Neither side took advantage of the chances they had, but 61 keeper Peter Gray pulled off a great save in the second half.

Two minutes from time Ruislip took the lead and as 61 surged forward for an equaliser, the visitors broke away and wrapped up the win with a second.

Also here is the report from the Potton United vs Ruislip Manor game, its a small one but obviously the headline writter couldn't be bothered to read it all:

Potton make late recovery

Potton 3 Ruislip 3 (aet)

POTTON kept alive their Vase hopes after a 3-3 draw which included extra time.

The home side took the lead thanks to Peter Saunders, but regular time ended locked at 1-1.

The hosts looked to have won it, going 3- 1 up in extra time thanks to Paul Garrett and a Ruislip own goal, but two late goals from Ruislip forced the replay.

I hope that Spidermanor and Manorborn 100 enjoyed their time in Luton and hopefully they will go on to retain the trophy on the hat eating day.

Ddin't realise Ruislip had moved counties. Pity I couldn't be there but I'm sure the boys had a good time. Good luck to 61FC for rest of the season.
