The forum has been an excellent mechanism for at least a good level of keeping up to date. Most of the information about what is happening at the club comes from the forum especially if there is a real absence of so called official information. Many of the posters on the site do pick up good stuff and even if such stuff is rumour(being unofficial of course !) there is enough history to suggest that much of the rumour becomes fact in a very short space of time.We know that some of the players read the forum and contribute in whatever discreet way they can- such comment immediately adds substance to the posts. The club itself never sees fit to put a point of view , to confirm or deny stories, and even worse to keep

we faithful few up to date with whatever is happening behind the scenes. Some statement about the situations regarding Messrs Deaner and Devine for instance would be welcome together with at least some assurances that the crazy "unpaid players" syndrome has been satisfactorily addressed and that we dont have the same situation for this weekend and beyond.

My understanding is that the council (however slim a hope that may be ) will only deal with the club and not the supporters and it is currently difficult to find confidence that the STFC end of those discussions will have any strength and cvertainly very little passion.

There are presently so many unanswered questions and it seems little chance of their being answered. Supporters(in this case one of nearly 25 years !) surely are entitled to know much more-they are loyal , they care and they hope for a future. In the last two weeks , two other Ryman managers have said how they feel for us and that we are some of the best in the league.Seems a shame our club does not seem to feel the same !

Maybe if Roy takes up Gary's kind offer of being a moderator he may start to post on here and we might start getting some news about the club.

Oh I forgot, he is not IT literate, as if he was he would have replied to my email asking about the future of the club and Martyn Deaners part in it - maybe my questions were a little to close for commfort, but they may have raised the recent issues earlier, however if it had been addressed in early September we may not have lost all these games, be bottom of the league, out of all the main cups, and had a chance to keep hold of the players.

I may ask awkward questions that the club and there stooges dont like, but if they had been answered the situation may have been salvageable

To add my comments..remember ignore them as LIAM has stated many times on this forum...just shows what your all talking about is exactly the same when you get direct cristisums ! You all gets defensive and all think you know the answers !

BUT YOU DON'T ...Nor do I !!! The forum has been used as a self destruct weapon by some ! and that I think is what Roy gets worried about...some knowledge if it gets out can do more damage than you think ..ie players wages etc etc ..a subject that is between the club and the players ..not for general discussion here !

Other matters I am quite happy with also and don't feel the forum should be blamed , its self control and being a bit wiser on subjects that may harm the club if all and everyone knows about ..thats all...

The forum should be kept under the control of the moderators and not the club ...but lets all be a abit more sensitive about issues... thats all...

Now back to last Saturday .. A few board members went around to see Roy and he did try to put a brave face on the whole situation , Gary walked passed us , and commented oh your having a private conversation ! No we said come over here and listern to what roy had to say - but no Gary walked on like a wet week end not wanting to know , so come on everyone you can not have it both ways... the reason the board members went to see roy was to get the details from the horses mouth , not listern to hear say or rummours ..anyone can do the same ... its not a problem ...to talk to him...really...

now lets move on..... keep the forum going...without moderators from the club. but if you have senisitive issue you fell you need answers then please see Roy direct..

cheers chris sliski

personally.

If not here, it will crop up somewhere else. I'd be more concerned about why the players aren't/weren't getting paid. If they were, why would the rumours begin? If the club could run itself with a bit of self-control, then there wouldn't be reason for the issues in the first place.

If that's the case, the club should have no say about what goes on the forum and what is removed. I have distanced it as far as I can from the Official Site as they requested, so it's nothing to do with the club. Being as though Roy's not signed up to the account, the club aren't interested in moderating it either it seems, so why should there be a problem with the content on here?

You were having what appeared to be an improptu board meeting given the circumstances of the day, hence my desire not to be involved at the time. You say yourself it was board members that went to see Roy as well, and it certainly looked as though it was an informal hastily arranged board meeting.

I sat listening to Roy pass the blame onto the forum with two other people stood by my side, so that did come directly from the horses mouth. That's his opinion and that's fair enough. I've explained to him before and carried out as many of his requests relating to this site as I can, but for me, enough's enough. The club are very keen to have a forum similar to Walton's where all the posts are moderated and checked before appearing on site and I can't say I agree with that principal in the slightest. All the club are doing at the moment is driving the 'bread and butter' fans away from the club and then turning round saying "Where are they now we're in a tight corner?".

We lost two people from the fan base over the summer who could have provided invaluable help to both the Trust and Club in terms of fundraising, day to day running and adminstration, but sadly both people have been pushed away at a time when we need all the help and friends we can get.

The post the other day talking of divide and conquer is striking accurate.

Gary , don't be so fickle ..Real fans stick with a club when the chips are down mate..so easy to walk away...(but its there choice at the end of the day)

I remember you telling me 3 seasons ago when you got involved with Hornchurch FC ..and went to see them in the FA cup match ..this is how football clubs should be run and Slough should take note...I told you then the bubble would burst but you said no it would not...

so judgements in football ! Its such a difficult line to know what goes on ! and all i care is whatever the mis judgements and mud slinging that goes on ..we need to stick together !

Whatever ..until my last breath in my body ..I will work to try and make things better for the club...

Sorry Chris, but I can't believe that for a second. Perhaps you misinterpreted me. Whilst I have a lot of time for Karl, the way he ran things then, and even to some extent now, on the pitch are very similar to the way Martyn has done things, and it's not the correct manner. Overspending on players to get a quick track to success is not the right way to do things.

They did howver, get a number of things right off the pitch in terms of getting the punters in and giving it a real community feel and that still exists today even despite their relegation and reform.

so all roy has actually managed to do is cause more and more supporter unrest by suggesting that this unofficial forum should be moderated by the club. its a great way to run the club and i must say im very impressed.... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
