Forum Changes

After the clubs continued insistance that it was the fault of the forum regarding the issues with the players on Saturday, I have setup an account for the club in Roy's name so they can moderate the forum in the best way they see fit. The account will need to be activated yet, but I hope the club will see the benefit of this given their continued issues with this messageboard.

 

I have changed my details so that I have an admin login (Admin No. 3) to carry on doing work to help Ian_W on this site, as you may have spotted from the name change from many of the threads, and have setup this account for my STFC related stuff moving forwards.

 

I will also be closing down my STFC email address and removing it from the website. Matt and Tom, who have done a superb job in continuing the updates on the website, will take over the day to day running of the site and I'm sure Chris will help out when he has the time.

Gary...for clarity, does this mean Roy, or other club representatives, can remove any posts they deem unsuitable in this moderator capacity?

If, and it's a big if, they take the account on - I've put it in Roy's details to do as he sees fit with it - then yes, they can moderate the forum.

 

Cue spin off, which they have no control over, won't know who is running, and then they've got the same issue on their hands, only ten times worse.

From the fact that 34 people have viewed this and no one has commented does this mean that posts are being deleted already. I would say that this is a complete joke but it isn't in the slightest bit funny.

I very rarely critise either the players or the club, but to blame the forum for this complete shambles is b*llocks.

Of course it's b*llocks, but for Gary to do this shows how fed up he is with the forum (and therefore its moderators) being blamed for everything. It's a massive step backwards, but now the club can have no excuses.

I'd just like to point out, the club have not asked for me to do this, nor did they probably want me to, but after Saturday I've simply had enough with this UnOfficial Forum picking up the blame for everything. I tried to do everything they asked for whilst keeping the forum as open as possible and clearly it doesn't work.

This forum will remain on here, but may be moderated a lot more tightly than it has been. BFR, Chris and Roger have let just about everything go, and the club, *if* they sign up to the account, could well start deleting a few more posts.

 

If that were to happen, I can fully see another forum being set up which wouldn't be moderated (much as it isn't now) somewhere else.

 

I don't think the club ever considered this as an unofficial forum sadly and as a result, never will understand about Internet forums.

i must say i think this is a load of rubbish.

theres no way that, if the club officials take on the moderator role, they can moderate this forum to stop rumours etc being posted. if it is an unofficial fans forum the club shouldnt have a part to play IMHO.

I strongly object to the club being able to remove posts from this alleged independant forum.

 

There is little enough information coming in the fans direction and then for BIG BROTHER to then carry out further sensorship is a step to far!!!!!!

 

The non payment of players wages is down to the missmanagement of the club!!!!

 

It is the club that needs to get its house in order not this forum!!!!!!!

As Gary has said though, until they actually activate "their" account they cannot do anything.

 

Whats more frustrating is that after all the hard work Gary has put in, that he has had to revert to this step after the clubs refusal to actually understand the point of the forums and their use!

 

You will notice when the account has been activated as the name will be listed with the other moderators below along with Chris, King Tut and Roger Rebel.

It is a basic misunderstanding of the nature of the web on Roy's part that has lead to this despite Gary's numerous attempts to explain it. It is absolute [****!!****] that the forum is held accountable for any of the mismanagement or financial difficulties the club is facing. Given that Roy and Westy had both made statements in the press about our financial difficulties PRIOR to Saturday it seems mad to blame the forum. But who needs fans when we have Martyn Deaner.

I'll be keeping a keen eye on what if anything is deleted by Roy. I don't suppose anything will actually happen seeing as he doesn't know his [****!!****] from his elbow. This is the man who got Jonny Mason to come along for the Westview Cup game and forgot to do the paperwork. This is the bloke who though BFR stood for Big Fat Roy. This is the guy who tried to blame Lillywhite for the news leaking about Eddie!

 

Roy, should you read this, you are a prize prat and your players are making a mockery of you.
