Will Kentish Town be able to hang on to Clement?

Recommended Posts

Even if Clement was in the running for the Valley job I strongly believe that he wouldn't even entertain it, he would be very much of the Magnus Magnusson view, namely 'I've started so I'll finish'. What he has created at Kentish Town is something very special indeed, why would he just walk away from that and let all the players he has built such a strong rapport with down, loyalty is something our players are experts on having been with us since the tender age of twelve so it would look a bit bad if Clement suddenly upped sticks and left.

Money springs to mind for a start then there's the eminence of working for a well known club.

Paula - I've said before that money is the last thing on Clement's mind, afterall he has two sons playing at the highest level of the World game who earn thousands a week so if he's in need of a few bob they only need to transfer 20 or 30 grand into his bank account from a NatWest in deepest Moscow or Tel Aviv where they're based. I also wouldn't necessarily call Charlton Athletic a well known Club, if, in the unlikely event, Clement were to leave us then it would probably be to Sunderland to team up with his bosom buddy Roy Keane.

Looks like Charlton have gone for an internal appointment because Kentish Town wouldn't give them permission to approach Clement!

Paula - I'm not entirely with you on this one, Clement has a good job for a well known Israeli fruit company in Hayes so must have a National Insurance Number, he has been living in this country since his playing career finished in the mid 90's. Not all of us are money motivated and there's a lot more to life.

Oh i'm sorry - thought he had only just come over here.

Anyway as for the not 'everyone money motivated and there being more to life' was that a dig at me?? I do hope not.

I agree there is certainly more to life (just took me a while to discover that) but the money - well i'm sure if we were totally honest i would say that at least 95% would disagree with you there. Without money how is there more to life??? You need the money to be able to enjoy your life (for the most part anyway)

And I am sure the Scumberland fans will want him, as they always look out for Kentish Town results.

Paula - I have learnt a thing or two about you tonight, I thought you were happy go lucky without a care in the World and didn't allow a little thing like money to rule your head, surely as long as you have your tenner to get into Park Lane, enough for a couple of pints afterwards and to walk your dog you're more than happy.

Exactly - but need the money to pay the bills and keep a roof over my head, run the car, have my £8 to get into the footie, pay the vet bills etc.

Money does bring an element of happiness - I am not greedy though - just enough to be comfortable.

You know my personal circumstances at home so I wouldn't say I havent got a care in the world, I am working out the finances to buy his share of the home so not that easy - its just that I don't sit and fester or feel sorry for myself.

Are you saying that's what I do, I'm very happy go lucky and haven't got a care in the World, well other than where Kentish Town are concerned that is.

to the people who think-"why would a big time coach" be at a small club like kentish town, i have another example for you-look at Michael stone-the coach of wingate and finchley-he was with south korea at the world cup and only last night he could not be at a game because he was involved with Ghana-so that just shows that big time coaches do go to small clubs aswell......so to all those people who ridicule the claim that clements wouldnt be at kentish if he was soooo big-up yours-lol
