Banter Rick, just banter. Nothing rude, nothing aggressive, nothing abusive.....just banter, similar to what you post here....which is your right on your 'soapybox'......surely we do not have to start quoting old threads? I have not been any of those above but recieved that back.

That's fine <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Maybe this caused the confusion.

Evening Echo 10th May 2004

FULL TIME BILLERICAY OUT TO RECAPTURE PAST GLORIES

Chairman Steve Kent and manager Justin Edinburgh are convinced that going full time can play a major part in the once mighty Billericay returning to former glories.

Said businessman Kent whoose arrival at the club in January signalled a massive boost in playing fortunesafter a dismal first half of the season said " We want to attract young players looking for a full time career and long term future in the game. " It struck me in the closing weeks of the season that quite a few players at our level are unemployed away from football and myself and Justin firmly believe this is the way forward."

In some ways Town are following in the footsteps of Grays Athletic who enjoyed a marvellous season after going down the full time path and within a year have resurrected the massive talents of striker Freddie Eastwood after he was released from West Ham.

Added Kent " I also belive this will cut rather than increase our wage bill significantly. Taking the kind of players we will be looking for will be chesaper than paying inflated cash to journeymen pros who just hop on and off the non-league merry-go-round "

Unless the club issued a statement shelving the above then surely this is why you have the tag.

I think this is pretty un-ambiguous:-

Let me throw a little light on this very confusing situation Little Miss Urchin.

None of our players are full time.

We don't have any full time players.

We are part time.

We don’t train between the hours of 9-to-5

Our player’s train on a Tuesday and Thursday evening

If asked to train on a week day, our players wouldn’t be able to because they have other jobs.

So Little Miss Urchin was right...you are full time because the actual club officals have said so??????

Out of curiosity LF, what's the situation at Chelmo.

Part time, as you know..... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

Train Tuesday and Thursday evenings at MP and apparantly well supported by fans who then have a drink with the players and Jeff.

All have other jobs/ or at college, apart from Fiston who only plays football for a living, but given his circumstances, hardly suprising.

Strange, this was old news at the beginning of last season and the club did issue a statement of sorts over the close season...but like everything else, people either can't read or wish not to understand as it is far easier to criticise and "have a bit a sport" with lies and un truths than it is to admit to the whole truth....

Funny enough, there is a whole army of 'em out there...

Sorry you have lost me <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I was not trying to be critical, clever, or anything else, this issue keeps raising its head and everyone seems unaware why BTFC have the tag.I merely pointed to the Echo story as it may have had just a little bit to do with it. Gazza if the club did issue a statement maybe people did not grasp it as it was only a " statement of sorts "

TC

May be just may be your answer to an earlier post could have referred to the Echo story and explained that it did not work or the club had a change of policy nothing wrong in that or would that have been to simple.

Why is it that when people join in and contribute and say perhaps what certain people don't want to hear the response is aggressive and we are accused of trying to undermind your club or are being critical.
