Dartford

I went to Dartford's opening game in my official capacity to check access etc etc. Saw a lot of the first half then had to leave.

It was a pity that they were a few weeks (months) behind with the 'finishing touches' but overalll a nice tidy place. The pitch looked very good and there were loads of advertising boards and the potential for loads more along the back of the long stand where the wooden man is. (What the hell does he signify?)Reasonable half with not only McClements playing but Lew Watts with Glen Billiness on the bench.

The fireworks after the game were really loud and spectacular. We could watch them back at work.

Let's hope it wont be too long before we are celebrating the opening of our new ground

It will be interesting to see what the crowd is!

Remember the 6-7000 who went to Villa followed by the 600ish that watched Stafford (I think) the week after.

Was it last season or this that Margate started out with some fantastic crowds when they returned home, but then it soon dwindled as well.
