Nice ground, deserved win, but what the fk is the deal with those buses outside? The organisation by the stewards was atrocious!

 

Also thought I was going to be crushed at half-time, trying to get a pint. The concourse (at the away end, at least) is tiny!

Glad you liked the ground Electric. Afraid I thought you didn't deserve much from the game because of that awful kit!

 

I have never tried the buses but I did notice there were a lot of police there afterwards. Were you trying to get back to the Park & Ride or into town. There may have been a problem with the P&R as one of the local car parks was shut and they were urging people to use the P&R for the first time. So perhaps they underestimated demand and didn't have enough buses. As for the away end concourse, when the ground was built the whole of that end was for away fans. And the ground was never full. Now only half of that end is for away fans and it is usually full. I never bother with the beer as (i) I am always driving and (ii) it's [****!!****] anyway.

It's a very good ground indeed, in my view.

 

Leaving the motorway is a nightmare on London Irish matchdays and, then, the attendance is 10/12,000 which is just under half-full.

 

It will be interesting to see the impact there is on the M6 on matchdays when The Mighty Saints move to the roundabout at the bottom of the M10.

The buses are a nightmare and always have been even with much smaller crowds.

The stewards force the away fans to walk the longest possible way to the buses to give home fans priority. There are never enough buses and it can take an hour to get away from the ground.

Yep, we had that problem yesterday. It threatened to get quite nasty with the stewards.

The buses are shocking at Reading, made worse by the fact that the away end is fairly near the bus stop but the stewards block you so you have to do a full loop around the ground to get to it (or at least they did). I went there to see DL draw a midweek match a couple of seasons ago....got back to the Albans at 1.15 in the morning after spending more than an hour in the bus queue outside the ground. Didn't go back for last seasons encounter as a result...why build such a good ground and forget the infrastructure?
