No boxing day games ??????????

Recommended Posts

Looking at the fixtures, I have realized there is no game on Dec 26, boxing day <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> , why is that?

Dont the SSML play games on boxing day? I have not yet looked at the fixtures for div 1 or 2, so dont know if they have a game. Seems dumb if you ask me. Boxing day is a traditional day for football and there could be lot's of local' derby's.

Pity there is no game on Boxing Day in Div 1. We could all have gone to Claremont Road and seen the Saviours of Soccer the North London Bedouins in action Samba stylee.

It does seem an opportunity missed doesn't it, I think we only play because with a lack of floodlights we can have an early KO on Boxing Day and New Years Day.

Come on Lato surely with your connections you are Rhodes could arrange a friendly between Kentish Town and Ruislip Manor, surely all your players would jump at the chance of playing at the legendary Claremont Road <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Gavin -Phil Rolt is not a believer in Boxing Day games for the SSML Premier and Division 1, it's the same every season and I'm surprised you weren't already aware. We all have a full week off over Christmas but how about if we all go up to Luton on mass to support the 61FC on Boxing Day morning, I'm assuming it will be an 11.00 kick off but AWK can confirm.

Well I know our manager reads this board so he will see that and might consider it, if he thinks its justifiable of course.

Most clubs in other leagues get their biggest gates (and moneyspinners) for the Boxing Day and Easter Monday games, which are usually local derbies. We always used to play Ware, and always got over 300.

As I've said before Phil Rolt is incompetent, and this is just another example. You have a day where there is an almost non existant public transport system which makes it next to impossible to go to any of the professional games (unless you drive). Providing a golden opportunity to promote the league with some tasty local derbies, and the fixture secretay can't be bothered to arrange the games.

I'm saying nothing Spider. Where were you yesterday, you would have boosted our gate to the dizzy heights of 29!

Spidermanor - Why don't we just enjoy the festive season without any football and chill out whilst watching the Great Escape on tv, afterall it is a religious holiday and I make Phil Rolt spot on. As I said if some of us are desperate to go to a game on Boxing Day why not go to the 61FC and support our good friend AWK and still be home in time for your cold turkey sarnies!
